The location is excellent for the cruise terminals, shops and restaurants. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast as always was excellent with a good choice, as was Dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is our 'Go to' hotel in Southampton and we hope to see you next year.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely hotel, really nice entrance and plenty of space to relax downstairs. Staff were great. The pool was lovely and warm and the jacuzzi was hot. I would stay again but the bathroom was very dated and there were little things all over that needed doing. Pool stairs need painting, broken window, etc, etc. Didn’t try Marcos restaurant after reading the reviews.
Bad experience with checking in they need to get their act together. No personality at all, no smile look of not having a clue. Nice room till we went to shower the handle to turn on shower came off couldn't shut off the water, drain in shower clogged. Call the front desk at 5;30 to send someone quick. 4 hours later, no one came to fix it. Luckily, my husband had a handy leather man on him. Called front desk at 9:30 about room service. Told him no one came about shower it was like, "All well, nothing I can do. Explained that you were lucky that my husband was able to shut the water off. No customer service from them what so ever. The staff in different departments are very nice and friendly. The room was really nice other than the shower part Date of stay Aug 11 2024.
As we were attempting to boil the kettle we found a mouldy teabag inside. This was so shocking for us. After this we were very hesitant of the cleanliness of the room. We registered this complaint with management. They offered us free breakfast after we already had breakfast, they offered us upgrade on next stay but the likelihood of us returning to the same location and hotel is very unlikely especially after having this experience. They then offered us 20% discount on our current stay which we accepted. They not followed up with this and have since ghosted us. When we finally was able to get in contact after several emails and phone calls, have are not acknowledged this was agreed. We were under the assumption the Leonardo was a prestigious hotel brand especially having to pay +£300 a night. Very disappointed with the stay and will never book again with this chain.
Had an afternoon cream tea. Staff are amazing, warm and welcoming. Bit shocked with the scones. They were rock hard and tiny. Couldn't get a knife through them. When we mentioned it, we were told that we should have eaten them first as they had been microwave heated. Food & drinks: Disappointing cream tea. Scone was flat, hard, super small.
We chose this hotel due to the close location of the cruise terminal. The staff was friendly and professional. We really enjoyed the breakfast and lunch at the restaurant at the hotel nice breakfast buffet and the lunch was excellent with a great wait staff. Our room was clean and it was quiet and relaxing during our stay. I can highly recommend this hotel!! Walkability: Close to shopping areas
We stayed here for a pre-cruise stay and honestly wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were absolutely lovely and went way above what I would of expected. The room was immaculate and spacious with premium toiletries and the hotel itself was in a great location with lots of amenities. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and we have stayed in extremely expensive 5 star hotels and this exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be back and want to express our thanks to the team who made our stay so fantastic. We even recieved a complimentary treat and card in our room as I mentioned at the time of booking that it was our anniversary and my partners 50th Birthday. Such a lovely, personalised experience. Without a doubt 10/10!!! Xx
Lovely hotel to stay prior to a cruise. Clean, well furnished and with ease of parking. Unfortunately I found the bed very uncomfortable with hard pillows and no pillow protectors. Our tv didn’t work and no one could fix it or offer any alternative. Breakfast was good and we vacated our room at 11 am and we were able to sit in the reception area until our allotted time for cruise boarding. A short drive to the cruise parking area, so very conveniently located.
Lovely hotel. We were upgraded after leaving a note on our booking saying it was my birthday and left a very cute card and treats to enjoy as a gift. Very beautiful room with loads of space and hotel was beautiful inside and out. Staff were lovely and helpful. Would 100% recommend.Rooms: 5/5
When we arrived,my family and I were excited to go to this hotel as we thought the pool would be a great place for us to relax. So last week we went with 6 children and one adult and entered without a problem. However, today we went , and instead of letting us in, the manager told us that we were not able to enter because you apparently need 1 adult for every 2 children and we only had one adult between five children. We were not able to go in which was truly shocking as this time we went with less children 5 to be precise. I do not understand why it was a problem. I feel that the manager and certain staff were being racist as last week we had seen a few families with more than two children per one adult who were white at the pool. We were deeply annoyed because we were denied access to the pool.DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL AS YOU WILL NOT BE TREATED FAIRLY IF YOU ARE OF A NON-WHITE ENETHICITY. It was absolutely appalling how we weren't allowed to enter because we had one adult and five kids. Adding onto this , the manager said we needed one adult for every two kids so she was basically implying that we needed three adults just for five children. This hotel does not even have any lifeguards and that is even more dangerous than " not having enough adults." The worst part is that we didn't even get our money refunded back and we were forced to leave the hotel without having a fun time at the swimming pool.
