Pleasant stay in a great locationnnThe hotel is situated in a quiet area just a 5-minute walk from Tower Bridge, which was perfect for exploring London. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the rooms were very clean — exactly what we needed for our two-night stay.nnThe staff did their best to be helpful and friendly, despite some visible staffing challenges. Breakfast was fine, though it could use a bit more variety. However, the coffee was excellent!nnOverall, a good balance of comfort and location — we’d be happy to return.
A ground floor twin room was mouldy and set off my allergy , the situation was efficiently handled with kindness and understanding by the excellent team here. Be vigilant with the twin rooms; with long family stays and no opening windows, the rooms are difficult to air, despite best efforts of staff. Thankfully I quickly recovered , thanks to the housekeeper and receptionist working hard help me change room
Pros are good sized rooms close to Aldgate station. Beds are comfy and there’s air con. Cons The rooms are clean but are starting to look a bit tatty with scrapes and paint chips, the chair in my room was stained too. WiFi was throttled to 1MB which is useless as they want you to pay £5 per day for an upgrade which is very old fashioned!! Breakfast is good value and selection
My partner and I stayed in the London City Aldgate Hotel in Oct 25nnWe stayed in the premium rooms on the fifth floor which are quite spacious and most importantly very quiet. The hotel is in an excellent nice area and is on a side street so there’s very little traffic noise outside.nnThere’s also a lot of restaurants on your doorstep and plenty of choices of cafe’s only a few minutes walk away.nnYou’re only around the corner from the Aldgate East Metro stop which is very convenient for both the Stanstead train and the Circle Line which are only one stop away. It’s also only a 10-15 minute walk to Tower BridgennThe only negatives we had during our stay was that the toilet door didn’t lock properly because the mechanism didn’t line up correctly, but that was just an oddity with our particular room
Stayed two nights to attend the All Points East Festival.nPositives: Location was good and within a 7 minute walk to the tube station. Staff helpful and check-in was smooth. Lots of nice places to eat nearby. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe.nNot so positive:nHotel room was basic.nCeiling tiles lifted when the air conditioning was on. Lamps did not work. Hairdryer needs electric testing, kept going on and off. Batteries in tv remote needed replacing.nYou may want to consider if you have mobility issues. Bed was very high I am 5ft 7inches and needed to climb to get up/ in and found a challenge to get in the bath to shower.nOverall: I would recommend but unsure if I would stay here again.
