Well, this is only a three star review. I have to acknowledge that the staff was generally very well intentioned and polite. The hotel boasts self check in, but no guest can do it without someone there to help them, which sort of defeats the purpose. Their motto is: “Everything you need, nothing you don’t”nWell, in practice, it doesn’t quite work out that way. This is a semi-bare-bones option in London city. God help you if you want to sleep in comfort. Upon check in the room was at 23°C. I set the thermostat to 17 C before leaving for dinner. When I returned two hours later, it was at 24.5 C.nThis was in November. One mercy is, you can open your windows, but of course that lets in light and sound.nAnother thing to consider is that housekeeping comes only every two days. That sort of tells you what you need to know.nA functional hotel in a convenient location in London city but they don’t let you control the room temperature.nIf you like to sleep at a comfortable temperature, or are generally looking for a positive hospitality experience , suggest you look elsewhere. The location really can’t be beat, and the staff is helpful, if not always successful, in resolving your issues.
The check in was seamless and the staff are so so so lovely. Our room was small but they made us of every bit of space. Very well designed. Lovely shower. Great location, literally 5 minutes walk from Bank tube station. 10 mins walk to Spitalfields & Borough markets in either direction. The sky garden is 2 minutes walk away which we highly recommend for a views of the city. Will definitely visit this hotel or one of their sister hotels when we are back.
My work booked this hotel for a conference and it was a great experience! The room had a unique style and the bed was super comfortable. I loved that they had a tiny radio and a yoga mat under the bed. The soap smelled so good.nnThe location is great, specially if you are in London for business. It’s well connected via public transport.
Excellent location, in the city very close to two train stations, with plenty of services around shops, restaurants, cafes,…. It was also possible to reach many attractions on foot. The room was big for London standards. Bed was comfortable. I got a good deal on the room.nOn the minus side, It was a back room, so the view was not great, but on the other side it was quiet. Also, They should do housecleaning every day rather than every other day. In any case, if you find a good deal, you can stay there.
The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.nThe housekeeping staff stole my belongings, and the front desk’s attitude was terrible!nnI was on a business trip and stayed for 5 nights. On the last night, housekeeping stole my things, clearly because they knew I would be checking out early the next day. I am very organized and notice when my personal items are touched — and they definitely were.nThis behavior is absolutely unacceptable.nI am extremely disappointed in this hotel. Disgusting experience!
