As Diamond members, we recently stayed at the Hilton DoubleTree London - Tower of London. While our stay had its cool highlights, there were some areas of concern that should be addressed.nnUpon arrival, our check-in was delayed until 4:30 PM, which was 1.5 hours past the promised time. This contrasts with our experiences in other cities with the same Brand such as Barcelona, where our room has often been ready by 9 AM.nnAdditionally, the breakfast policy was unexpected. Despite our Diamond status, we incurred additional charges for breakfast. A simple toast was priced at £10, resulting in an additional £280 for a family of four over a week. In other Hilton locations like Dubai, Vienna, Barcelona, and Madrid, breakfast is typically included for Gold and Diamond members also the additional things that can be ordered.nnOn a positive note, the rooms were comfortable and offered a pleasant view and a good space We appreciated the upgrade we received after the delay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, doing their best to enhance our stay.nnAnother commendable feature was the Executive Lounge with its Happy Hour, a benefit not commonly found at other DoubleTree Hotels .nThe hotel’s location is ideal, with many major attractions within walking distance. While our overall experience in London was enjoyable, we are hesitant to return to this particular Hilton. The additional charges for a basic breakfast, which is usually complimentary for loyal members, and the delayed check-in after a long journey were significant drawbacks. Adhering to the promised check-in time is crucial for guest satisfaction.nnIn conclusion, while London remains a wonderful destination, this Hilton property could benefit from some improvements in service consistency and member benefits.
We stayed here for one night. The room was extremely clean and spacious. The hotel was well situated near the Tower of London and tower bridge just a few minutes walk from the tube station. This gave us excellent links to the rest of London using the underground. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the variety of food was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Location of the hotel is perfect, very close to Tower Hill and Underground. Breakfast had enough variety. But room was very small and furnitures were very old/used. Carpet on the main corridors must be renewed, current ones are very dirty and worn. Nothing extra ordinary with the service quality. In general it can be considered as a good location alternative.
I had the worst experience during my stay the hotel staff including the management were not professional or even nice in dealing with my issue. On the first day, the shower stand fell in my head while I was taking a shower even though the room was accessible room intended for disabled people. They didn't change the room or offer me any compensation. The second day they accessed the room without telling me or acknowledging me while my laptop was open and all my belongings were at the table which I consider an invasion of my privacy.nAfter that, the A/c was broken during the hottest day of the year and I had the worst night of my life and could not sleep at all.nThe breakfast was below average for such a price and the facilities were outdated or not working. This hotel used to be a very good one but their standards have fallen to a new level. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO STSY HERE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR TIME IN LONDON!!!!
this hotel is excellent ONLY if you are in an executive room!!nnthankfully we got upgraded to executive upon arrival, but I seriously cannot imagine staying here without access to the lounge or the executive floors - you can see in the image below how different the executive top floors look through the courtyard windows at night. The executive lounge was my favorite thing - free drinks and light snacks for 2 hours every day as well as free breakfast. Somebody next to us got their purse stolen in the executive lounge which you have to have a room key to get into, however, there are cameras in the room and it sounded like the staff was treating the guest extremely well given the circumstance. Free still and sparkling water bottles in the executive lounge too which we stocked up on frequently. Robes & slippers in the room too! We did not try the hotel bar or the rooftop lounge, but there are some amazing restaurants in walking distance as well as the nearby Tower Bridge. It is a quick 5 minute walk to bus routes, the tube station nearby was not open when we were there in june, but if it was it is literally right down the street and would’ve been so incredibly convenient. The location is somewhat far to main attractions like soho district or buckingham palace. This hotel is closer to the business district, but we VERY much enjoyed being on this side of London because it was significantly quieter, less touristy, and still easy to take the tube or buses without sitting in a bunch of main London traffic. We transferred to a 5-star Hilton for a few nights for a business conference that was near Hyde park and absolutely hated it. Even though that was supposed to be a nicer hotel it looked very pretty, but it was so loud, so busy, smaller room, etc. this hotel is much quieter and more affordable and I would 100% stay here again on our next visit to London!
