Overall I had a decent stay at the Ibis.nThe Shoreditch location is great—right outside the Aldgate East Tube Station, down the road from the excellent Spitalfields Market, and an easy walk to the Tower of London along the Thames waterfront. There's also a grocery store next door for any food/travel needs.nThe room was small, as expected, but reasonably comfortable, clean, and quiet.nnI did have a bit of annoyance when extending my stay—it was more tedious than it should have been, IMO.nOtherwise, it was a good stay. The location is the best selling point.
Not a 5 star hotel in the traditional sense, but the room was perfect for us. Big, comfy bed, bathroom was clean, hotel staff were really helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfast was lovely. All in all, we'd definitely stay here again based on experience, price and location.
Our stay was so-so. The check-in process was quick and we were allowed to go to our room at around 9am already, which was very helpful after the long travel day. Leaving the luggage at the hotel costs 3£.nnAt first, everything seemed very good, but unfortunately it went south the moment we checked the towels.nnFirst of all, each guest only gets a large towel, no small one for hands/face, which was the first letdown. Second, one of the towels we got on day one had rather large black stains on it, which looked like it could be mold. Both towels we got the next day had large brown smears on them, and frankly we don't want to know what happened there.nnThe cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom, should be improved. The sink drain stinks a lot. And please, add a toilet brush. There is no reason why there shouldn't be one!nnThe bed was a bit uncomfortable, but the room we had 227 was very quiet. It has a decent size, just the bathroom is a bit crammed.nnOne day we got woken up by the cleaning staff at 8:50am, which feels a bit too early.nnAll in all, I would choose this hotel again due to its perfect location and decent rooms, but the cleanliness needs to be adressed.
Location is great, room looks fair. But the biggest surprise is how the housekeeping team treats you. No knocking but straightforward entry even if you got a late check out and having No Disturb hanging outside and sits on the toilet.
Cracking place this. Great location. Food and pubs nearby, underground just down the road. The rooms are perfectly good adequate I would say. This was booked through work. I would say that the room is a little on the small side, but that's London I suppose. The staff are amazing, the young lad on the desk allowed me to push my check out time to 1500hrs vice the normal 1200, so that I could stay in the room until then and go to the airport. Really good staff. Breakfast was pretty decent as well.
