The hotel is a long walk from Cardiff Central station which is made easier by the smart bridge but unless you know the bridge exists then you have to walk all the way around also the entrance to the hotel is at the rear of the building so an even longer trek while dragging a case and a small child, there is a gate which requires an access code, if they gave the code to you before check in it would be enormously helpful. Once we got in to the hotel we had a few minutes wait before being acknowledged as two members of staff were looking at a computer. Unfortunately we had arrived early and couldn't check in and get to our room but we were able to store our case and head back out into the rain. The overall impression of the staff was that they seemed a little a little stand offish. They never greeted you as you passed through reception and the bar staff only ever asked if you had been served or not. The cleanliness seemed good but the tea and coffee facilities in the room were a bit lacking, I'm not sure I would be in a hurry to stay again soon

Undeserving of the 4 star rating. Lots of money has been spent on updating the common areas: reception, bar, and restaurant; however the rooms are in dire need of updating and a good cleaning. There are large, distinctive stains and marks all over the walls, curtains, and carpets of each room I stayed in on separate visits. The bathroom sink and the in-room fridge were dirty and had a disgusting, brown-coloured crud on them. And for a non-smoking hotel, my room during the most recent and last ever stay there, smelled strongly of smoke and air freshener combined. Don't waste your time or money at this hotel unless you like wasting both.

Other than the Sheraton brand, I also bet on the Novotel brand. France has been known as the country of hospitality for centuries and the Novotel is always a good example of that. Curiously the Novotel Cardiff is very much like the Novotel Edinburgh, except of course for the meals. Anyway, even the layout of the spas and restaurants are similar and then again, the Novotel I stayed in Panama City also pretty much followed the same criteria, just like also the last one I stayed in Indonesia. These brands are reliable, excellent customer care and attention to every single detail. Congratulations!

We love this hotel. We stay twice a year & are always so impressed with the staff in all areas of the hotel; from the reception staff, to the restaurant & bar staff, to the house keeping staff & gym staff. The hotel manager, Douglas is excellent & he strives for customer satisfaction & excellence. The rooms are lovely & clean & so is the pool area. The pool is gorgeously warm & includes sauna, steam room & Jacuzzi. All in all, one of the best hotels to stay in when visiting Cardiff & we always look forward to returning.

Lovely interior and service. With plenty of amenities to pass the time. Room was well looked after and had everything we needed. No complaints whatsoever for the one night that I stayed. And with a 5 minute walk to the city centre it's perfect for any city goer.
