Not as bad as people make it out to be, however, the hotel does need some tender love and care. The walls were quire dirty with a crack in our room however the convenience won - the location is great, booking at desk and the check in process was super swift. I agree with previous reviews that said the hotel is lacking a communal lounge of sort - we’ve tried asking the staff if they would be able to microwave our food in their office facilities since there was no option to do so anywhere else however they refused. It’s a convenience hotel with narrow interior so I’d really suggest looking for else where if you wanted more than somewhere to stay over night
Got to the reception, no one there, rang the bell a few times, eventually after a couple of minutes someone came, no smile, no "sorry", nothing. He could have been in the restroom or whatever for all I care, but the least you can do in the service industry is to say something. The guy absolutely hates his job. Got my room, top floor, no elevator, bear in mind the last section gets super narrow and it's quite a hassle carrying bags around. The hotel is cheap, that's undeniable, but wow... rooms are stalked so close to each other, the noise is unbelievable, had a horrible first night, plus it was freezing, caught myself a nice little cold there... the bathroom is small, had to seat with the door open, otherwise I wouldn't fit. Won't ever come back. Rooms: They suck. Old, small, noisy and I didn't like the pillows.
ANT INFESTATION IN OUR ROOM. The receptionist/staff had a very poor attitude and were incredibly unhelpful. We arrived to our room at 10.30pm after a show and there was an ant infestation. They were all over the walls, floor, bed...etc. We informed the receptionist who came down with some bed bug spray - alarm bells began to ring as they clearly had/have a bed bug infestation too. I said I couldn't sleep in the room if he sprayed that all over the place and bed as I have asthma. He ignored me and continued spraying so I repeated myself politely. He then told us we could leave for a few hours to let it air out it was now almost 11pm. I asked if we could be moved to another room, they had no availability. Therefore we asked for a refund as we would be unable to sleep in an ant infested room or one with dead ants and chemicals everywhere. We were refused and told to send an email to them where they will get back to us the next day with decision. After a long time we managed to get a refund from Agoda directly and had to find a new hotel at midnight in London. Awful experience, not a single apology was given. We were very kind and polite the entire time and were very upset at the attitude of the staff. The female receptionist was also incredibly rude on check in. There was also mould in the room. Even if there was no ant infestation the hotel felt very "dodgy". It was unclean, the staff were intimidating and the rooms were dirty, cramped and broken.
Decent short stay hotel perfect for Paddington Station. But there's no lift/elevator and a lot of cramped stairs. I had a big suitcase so I doubt I'd have booked had I known about the stairs. The sounds coming from the hall are so loud you think someone's in your room! Thankfully the people on my floor didn't talk in the hall for long!
The hotel is ideal for short visits to London. The location is within close proximity to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. Buses are available and you can get to anywhere in London at all times. The reception is very narrow. There are no elevators. The room was too small, however, it did not surprise me considering the price point. Cleanliness was ok and the beds were good for a deep sleep. The sound isolation between the rooms are not effective. You can easily hear everything! Toiletries were provided and they also have provided coffee and tea in the room. If you have large suitcases or pushchairs, I would say you need to reconsider! They stairs are too narrow and the room does not have enough space. Safety: The hotel is in a very safe neighbourhood. Food & drinks: The hotel does not have any restaurants, however, there are plenty of places within walking distance to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner.
There are dozens of these little hotels around Paddington, mostly converted town houses, small rooms, lots of stairs, limited facilities. As they go, this one seemed fine. My room was a reasonable size, nice decor, OK en suite. For a short stay absolutely fine.Rooms: 4/5
Good location, but sadly the room on 4th floor, which was a right cardio workout with luggage was small, noisy, with a toilet so badly designed that you had to sit on it nearly sidewaysRooms: 2/5
Absolute worst hotel I have ever been to in my whole life. The manager in reception shouted at us for the late check-in which was not mentioned that we should pay £20. He was literally keeping my suitcase hostage and refusing to give it to me until I paid and then eventually gave up and was aggressively, shouting at us to the point where I was about to phone the police further to this. The rooms are like tiny prisons and disgusting. Absolutely there is hair everywhere in the shower. I had to literally close my eyes to have a shower because I cannot sleep without having a shower at night. There is absolutely dirt, disgusting leftover things from previous visitors that the cleaners do not clean properly. There is about five steps to climb to the top area, Sadie place, but overall the manager should be sacked or even arrested for the aggressive and violently behaviour. He was telling us to not to mention that we were three girls and felt harassed
Terrible and rude customer service. Incompetence from the staff response I received via email but I guess that's 3 star service for you. Glad I did not book with these unprofessional people.Service: 1/5
Best hotel in the area, convenient location, staff are super welcoming, and friendly. Immaculate quality rooms for low price, can’t fault this hotel.Rooms: 5/5
