We were ROBBED at this hotel. Someone entered our room at night and stole from us. We couldn’t reach the reception immediately, the thief entered the reception, took some shampoo samples, left them in our room, went to the hotel restroom, used it, and nobody noticed, and one of the staff told us that some previous guests hadn’t returned their room keys „The owner knew about this and even mentioned room numbers, but he tried to hide our room number to avoid being blamed“ . The hotel hadn’t changed the locks at that time and simply ignored the issue, which cost us over £2,000 due to the owner's negligence. The hotel is not safe at all. After a long discussion, the owner finally changed the main door and room locks and brought in a bodyguard for our last night because we no longer felt safe. He also gave us a small package of sweets and paid for our dinner "He was trying to avoid the situation with a box of sweets", thinking that would somehow compensate us, but it felt like he was just trying to get rid of us. Hilarious! They took a deposit from us to ensure we wouldn't damage anything or cause any issues, but they didn't ensure the hotel safety or security at all. They didn’t care about their guests safety at all. Regarding the cleaning, we found bugs in the bathroom several times. We stayed there for 4 nights, and no one cleaned the room. The room is small for 4 people and doesn’t look like the picture. No elevator, and we were on the third floor when we got robbed. Imagine how safe the hotel is! Hahaha. Safety: NOT SAFE!!! WE GOT ROBBED AND LOST OVER £2,000 DUE TO THE HOTEL'S NEGLIGENCE.
A Disastrous Stay. I recently stayed at a hotel in New Dawn Hotel, and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The conditions of the hotel were beyond unacceptable. Upon entering my room, I was immediately hit with the overwhelming smell of mold. The room was riddled with mold everywhere I looked, accompanied by signs of severe water damage and dampness. To make matters worse, the floor was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The quality of everything in the room was subpar. The bathroom was a complete nightmare—tiny, dirty, and falling apart. The tiles on the bathroom floor were coming loose, and it was impossible to move around without worrying about what might break next. There was even a hole in the floor behind the bed, which made me question the structural safety of the room. As if the physical state of the room wasn’t bad enough, the smell was deplorable. It was impossible to get a good night’s sleep in such conditions, and I found myself waking up repeatedly due to the unbearable stench. To make matters worse, I noticed that the fire alarm in the room seemed ancient and likely hadn’t worked in years. This was incredibly concerning and only added to my anxiety during the stay. The final straw came when we walked through the hallway and caught a glimpse of the laundry area. To our utter disgust, we saw a cat lounging on top of what were supposed to be clean towels. This level of carelessness and lack of hygiene is completely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone a hotel. Overall, my stay at this hotel was a disaster from start to finish. I am deeply disappointed and would strongly advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere. No one should have to endure the terrible conditions I experienced.
Asking for a deposit with no clear reason 1 **Unsafe:** We were robbed due to the hotel owner's negligence. Previous guests didn’t return the keys, and the owner ignored the issue, failing to change the locks. We lost over £2,000. What you'll experience: long arguments, ruining your mood and your trip, wasted time, locks only changed after the robbery, constant fear, using your bags as makeshift locks, a dinner the owner tried to avoid paying for by offering a small package of sweets, and a bodyguard for your last night. 2 **Unclean:** We found insects in the bathroom multiple times. If you drop something under the bed, prepare for dirty surprises when retrieving it. 3 **Mismatched furniture:** The furniture doesn’t look like the photos. 4 **Unsafe location:** Although in central London, the area doesn't feel safe. Safety: Unsafe We were robbed due to the hotel owner's negligence, resulting in a loss of over £2,000. Previous guests didn't return the keys, and the owner ignored the issue by failing to change the locks.
When we arrived we got given our room and upon entering the smell of mould hit us hard. The entire bathroom was covered in black mould and the smell of bleach in the bathroom made me nauseous. The shower drain had its own micro biome and flooded every time we used it. We decided that we would put up with it because we were only there 3 nights and we were out most of the day anyway. When we left we noticed bites all over our bodies and then we realised the bed had bed bugs! so disgusting! I felt like it had never been cleaned and that the owners couldn't care less. Don't fall for the cheap price bed bugs and black mould are not worth the money you're saving. DO NOT BOOK!!!!! Safety: It did not feel safe at all. A small easily breakable lock and that was it. We were two young girls staying here and every night we put as many things against the door as possible just in case someone tried to break in.
never stay here. It doesn't look like the photos, it's a scam, the worst hotel I've ever been to. I didn't spend a single night wasted money. The hotel was not willing to refund even half. mold everywhere, stench everywhere, mess. Apparently also bed bugs. Dangerous for health.Rooms: 1/5
The room we got was not what we booked online. There was mould all over the bathroom. The shower drain looked like it had a species growing in it and would flood as soon as you turned it on. The toilet room I refuse to call it a bathroom was so small you had to sit on the toilet on an angle. Tiles were also broken. The place smelt like bleach and mould. The doona was crusty and had holes in it. Both my friend and I left with multiple bites. The wallpaper was coming apart and I believe the design was only chosen in an attempt to cover up any mould. The hallway light didn't turn on until you had already gone downstairs, and the light closest to our door didnt work so we had to unlock our door in darkness. Two people cannot move around comfortable in this room. Only one coffee sachet. Felt very soviet. I feel like people go here when they are on the run from the law. Safety: Door lock was very janky we had to sleep with our bags against the door just in case.
Disgraceful! Unknowingly booked and paid for this room as it disguised itself as London lettings on Air BnB. After finding this out and reading the reviews, I saw issues with bed bugs and other horrible hygiene issues. I logged a request to Air BnB to cancel and provide a full refund. Thankfully AirBnB was decent enough to refund this, and I stayed elsewhere. However this guesthouse tried to contact me with the threat of a late check in fee. After I politely said we wont be coming, they insinuated that I was a liar and proceeded to belittle me after I provided them with screenshots from the AirBnB conversation. Pathetic customer service and by the sounds of it an even worse guesthouse.
The main advantage of this place is the location, in comparison to the low price. You are very near to Hyde Bark, and very close to 2 metro station, tesco market is nearby also, and the street behind the hotel is crowded with people until late night. Don't expect much from the rooms Suitable to stay for couple of nights, and safe to return to the hotel late at night. Rooms: Very small room with no mini bar Windows are double glass,so the temperature is perfect with the heater on. Toilets are very small you wonder how they place sink over toilet Nearby activities: Hyde park is very close, and bike rent is also close to the hotel
This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are unfriendly and were unwilling to compromise on the late fee. We were travelling from Amsterdam to catch the ferry in France to England. We were on schedule to arrive before 9pm when the late fee applies, we arrived 3 hours before the ferry was meant to depart only to find out it had been cancelled and we’d have to take the 7pm one. When trying to make them understand it was completely out of our control they were rude and acted like we planned it. When arriving we were not greeted politely, the guy grunted at us and said “do you have a booking or not?”. Now for the room, when walking in you’re instantly hit with a stale smell that only goes away but opening a window. The walls are dirty and it looks like mould is growing in the corner of the ceiling. The bathroom is absolutely tiny which I didn’t have too much of an issue with, until when using the shower for the first time I found black hair in there which isn’t the colour of mine or my partners hair. The sheets and blankets cleanliness is definitely in question as well. The floor near the window was wet for no reason and we had to put a towel down for safety. You can hear noise from people above walking around, and the light from the street comes through the window making sleep difficult. The staff don’t even look up or acknowledge your presence when coming and going from the place. It is a cheap stay for a night or two at max, but I would honestly rather pay extra for a nicer place with more polite staff, which is exactly what I did. I ended up losing money by checking out a day early so my last night in London would be good. How this place is a functioning business is beyond me. I was also told I would be contacted within 24h after check out about getting the deposit £50 = $100 AUD that I had to pay for any possible damages. I haven’t been contacted and we gave them no reason not to give it back.
When we arrived we were given key to our room, the light in corridor as you walked down stairs didn't work, I fell and got hurt. Our room... well... floor dirty, tv didn't work, toilet door didn't fit frame, frame also loose. Room very small. We had 2 coffee, sugar and tea but no milk and no teaspoons. And the room had a musty smell. We left the same day. Would not recommend.
