Good location. Not too far from stations and very good access to all the shops.nnI was on the 1st floor, the carpets in the halls were worn through, the doors had some stories to tell, and the bouncer stationed there was pretty novel to me. The room however, was absolutely fine! A little worn, but the bathroom was spotless and the sheets fresh and clean, which is all you can really ask for at this price point.
Location is 10/10. However do not stay here until they get their elevators fixed. I had to carry my bag down six flights of stairs after waiting for the elevator for 30 minutes and each time it was full because they are so small and slow and one was not working. Rooms are just ok, but you get what you pay for and the hotel is affordable for the location.
Stayed here on 2 different occasions recently. First time I got an upgrade to a renovated room which was okay standard, location is great but seems to be constant issues with lifts. Always many guests waiting and ending up taking the stairs most time which is not ideal from floor 10 for example.nSecond stay just now I got an old room... not great and not recommended. Cheapish at 100 gbp as location is great, but not coming back unless I know its a renovated room.nMake your research!
We had a wonderful stay here! The location was ideal for us as it was walking distance to many spots and so close to the tube that getting around was easy! The staff were also amazing but the one who stood out to us as she helped us so much and was so friendly and kind when we had a problem was Mikela I am sorry if I spelt that incorrectly at the front desk! We really appreciated everything she helped us with and I hope that she gets recognized for that! The whole staff were incredible! We also had dinner in the restaurant and thought it was both delicious and reasonable! The only thing that was a little problem was the AC was not particularly effective and so I found it a little warm at night! However, that was a minor thing. We will definitely stay here again though!
I am currently staying at St Giles London and would like to comment on the hotel’s supervisor Mikele for her exceptionally good service in helping my wife and I during our stay. She was able to offer us a better room after we detected an error in the booking with Agoda. She was patient and understanding in helping us resolve the error, which helped put us at ease. I would like to express my gratitude for her professionalism and quick thinking on the spot. St Giles has a good central location in London but the rooms are quite dated. Overall still a hotel to consider staying while visiting London.
