So let's start with the positives. All staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is undoubtedly in a good central location. Negatives are: if you are noise sensitive this will be a problem. First, the walls and ceilings you can hear just about everything from next door including showers, toilets and water and voices. Every door seems to bang shut loudly, so if you are noise sensitive, you will suffer. Breakfast was fine but it is a very small room and you may have to wait. Lastly, the location is noisy. Our room was overlooking the road and you hear everything throughout the night even with closed windows. So, all in all noise is a problem while staff are pleasant and polite. Rooms: Very, very small. If you are an average size it is tolerable for a few nights.
Please do not stay at this hotel: Utterly disgusting and deceiving. What a JOKE! I rate this hotel “-0”. Total opposite of the pictures/descriptions I saw online. They draw you in with a membership and large discount. I should have known it was too good to be true. I booked a family room for 4 people. When we arrived, they didn’t have the room saying they incurred a computer glitched and the room I booked was no longer available. But, instead of the family room I booked, we were given 2 rooms. We were excited, until we entered the rooms. Both rooms were very tiny, one of the rooms were so tiny there was a problem storing the suitcases away. The air condition wasn’t sufficiently working. The rooms were DIRTY, from the walls MOLD to the carpet DIRTY. When we were leaving the hotel, we noticed the storage room for towels, etc. were kept in a small closet on the floor yes, on the floor. The elevator did not work. We walked with some of our suitcases to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The bathrooms were so small you could barely move around, they were so disgusting that there was no water to take a shower for a period of time. Anyone walking on the floor above you, you will hear it. Every single step. STAFF: lies all the time with many excuses. Promised another room only to say, oh, not available as promised. They do nothing to solve your problem. The Brunel Hotel is a horrible hotel. Please save yourself the trouble and DON’T COME HERE. It was by far the worst experience ever!!! Pay a few more pounds and go to another place. I don’t understand how this hotel can be considered a hotel. We’ve never felt so robbed of our money. I would not recommend the Brunel Hotel to anyone. Not even my worst enemy.
The location is perfect. Close to everything. The rooms are extremely small. During winter the windows are not closing completely. If you find a good deal it’s ok. Otherwise not. Walkability: Close to everything Food & drinks: The food was ok.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Brunel Hotel, the hotel is in a good area, perfect for all local destinations and is perfect for the Elizabeth line to Heathrow. The rooms are small, I didn’t quite imagine just how small. I don’t need a lot of space, but it was hard to move around especially in the bathroom and shower. But what made this Hotel 100/100 and the reason I will be back is the staff, Mahima was absolutely amazing, personal, friendly, helpful. She literally checked me in, helped me with an issue all in the evening, and was back in the morning to serve breakfast. If I had to pick one reason to come back it would be because of the care and support during my first trip to London. Thank you so much! I hope management reads this and recognizes you for your talent.
Rooms were clean, everyday room service ! However a bit narrow, but didn’t really matter as we only came in to sleep . Would recommend to add either hooks or bars in the bathroom to hand the cloths or towels . The stuff we’re very welcoming ! Thanks
Very nice hotel! The rooms were nice, the people were kind and helpful and the food was yummy! Except the room was very hot and humid and it felt like a furnace so maybe try to make it cooler?Rooms: 4/5
The rooms are small, but clean, the service was just as you'd expect. The staff at the reception is very helpful. Check-in is possible 24/7, but it's better to inform the hotel prior if you come in late hours. The bathrooms are really small, but again very clean, well equipped. Breakfasts are possible, but the restaurant is quite small. You may need to wait for a free table. Expect the usual local breakfast. Everything is fresh and tasty. The best is that not only the tube, but buses as well are really close by with only a few minutes walk away. Rooms: Smaller, but clean and cozy Safety: Access through the lobby with reception, entry to rooms with cards. Walkability: Great, Tube and buses are just a few minutes away. Hyde park 5 min walk away.
I had a terrible experience staying in the hotel mostly because of the mouse in my room. I arrived at midnight last sunday and left the room at 8AM the next morning. Needless to say, the noises from the mouse in my room made it impossible to sleep as soon as I turned off the lights. It took me a while to understand what were the noises as I've never experienced something like this before the noises where as if I could hear a small dog's steps very quickly running through the room - I never thought such a small rodent could be so noisy with its steps. I kept turning the lights on and felt I was imagining it as I couldn't see anything until at 4AM I actually saw the mouse. I called the front desk they were very kind to come to my room in the third floor and give me instructions to put a towel underneath the door to prevent the mouse from coming in again...still...this is something that you wouldn't expect when paying $100/night for the room and also if you have mice, you should give me instructions to block them from coming in BEFORE going to sleep although I wouldn't have stayed there if I knew. Certainly I didn't turn off the light after that, and the mice didn't come back but I wasn't able to sleep at all. The next morning I saw that a closed pack of almonds in my bag had a whole in it and you could easily see how the mouse had eaten through the plastic. It's disgusting to know that the mouse went through my luggage, which also, the hotel should have informed me not to put in the floor considering they had mice. The next morning they said they were aware and they would call a specialist but they never offered any compensation for the fact that I booked a room and I wasn't able to sleep. They also saw my bag of almonds clearly eaten by the mouse and just apologized. That really was too little of an apology for someone that really needed to sleep that night to head to an important interview the next morning. Also, needless to say mice transmit diseases. So overall, a horrible experience, and even though the staff was very nice and apologetic I still can't believe I was charged a full price and not offered any compensation despite the gravity of the situation. Update: The hotel was kind enough to reimburse me for the night which I appreciated.
Amazing stay at the loveliest hotel for the best price! The staff was wonderful, every one of them was so nice and so helpful and made the stay so much better. The room was very clean and nice. The breakfast was also very good, plenty of options and we always left full and satisfied. The location was also excellent, just a short walk and we were in Oxford street. Overall a lovely hotel and for such a good price, I truly recommend it! Once again a big thank you to the lovely staff for everything they helped us with and did for us!!
Rooms were small but clean and equipped with air-conditioning. Lift was out of order, but for the higher floors, luggage was carried up. English breakfast buffet provided sufficient choice, and coffee and hot chocolate were excellent. Walkability: Very close to paddington station and hyde park. Food & drinks: Plenty of lunch/dinner possibilities in the neighbourhood.
