We had a very warm welcome from Gill, with tea/coffee and delicious cakes, much appreciated after our long trip. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast had a great choice of very tasty food and was a friendly and relaxed start to the day. We hope to return as we visit West Mersea several times a year.

We enjoy few day in this wonderful place, was a plesure meet this family, excellent atention and lovely garden. Our son was talking weeks about how much he enjoy our holiday. many Thanks From Stefannia, Matteo and Franz

We instantly felt so welcome that Gill and Andrew seemed like longstanding friends. They spoiled us with their hospitality (N.B. Gill's cake & coffee and sumptuous breakfasts) and gave us invaluable touring help, even driving us to a nearby pub when we were without transport to get ourselves to dinner on the first day. The bedroom and bathroom, with views of the beautiful surrounding garden, were very nicely furnished and extremely comfortable. This B & B is well located between intriguing Mersea Island and Colchester, which can be reached conveniently by either the nearby main road or a much more tranquil back road.

We spent 2 nights at Black Bond Hall and were made most welcome.  It is a beautiful old house with much character and charm.
The en suite room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent.  We will be back!

A charming house set in peaceful surroundings, within easy access of Colchester and Mersea.  I received a genuinely warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended. A real gem.
