Nice venue and good food. Parking is available in the middle of the venue. Not easy to find the entrance to the central car park but ensure you find it as best place to park

Bags of character and low ceilings! As you would expect from this style of hotel, the character of the ancient building places compromises on the physical product. However, the service could be more welcoming; friendly, even! Room was clean, bathroom cramped and shower flow rate more accurately described as a dribble! However, for the price, it was fair and I would return.

Staff seemed rather not non chalone or not interested or even bitter about working there and having to out up with customers wanting a cheap night after drinking and a means to getting away with smoking out the windows as even the smoke alarm facilities seem outdated in these death trap historical buildings. 🏢 🌃 If you're on the grounds floor you may hear people drink walking around swimming and creaking the floor boards all night or hear dunks leave the window instead of using stairs and door s. Bearing in mind you have ground floor rooms with doors as exits. However the food menu read delicious and the chefs were passionate. Rooms were quaint and charming and will kept.

We were here for a friend's wedding and whilst everything went really well, and the wedding team were helpful and professional the same cannot be said for the breakfast team. Nearly £50 spent for sub standard food and service on day 1 and extremely shoddy and unprofessional service on day 2. You would at least expect the bride and groom get exceptional service but I don't even think the restaurant Manager knew who they were!! Is 50 mins a reasonable length of time to wait for bacon and eggs? And by time the food came they had moved all the juice etc because we had runout of time. And then when I complained to the re eption staff I was told to put it in writing...... really?
