Came here to pick up wallboards for my bathroom and was really impressed. There’s a great range of products at reasonable prices, and everything is well organised, making it easy to browse and find what you need.nThere’s plenty of parking available, along with lots of trolleys, which makes shopping convenient. Bonus points for the ice cream van and food truck outside, which is perfect if you get hungry while shopping!
I came into the store after having a problem with something I purchased and I was able to do an easy return with KENZIE and LAURA.nnBoth ladies were extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and helpful. They advised me what paint I should be using and explained why and how to get the best results for example in the sprayer I purchased.nnTheir customer service was amazing and because I’m renovating my garden I will definitely be back and I’ll be finding these ladies to help me again. I also saw on their badge they had been there for 8-10 years and it shows, they’re a great asset to B&Q.nnThank you.
The customer service at the Milton Keynes store was absolutely terrible. I bought a mirror, only to find out at the checkout that it required a separate fitting kit. I then struggled to find the kit and asked three members of staff for help, while my husband asked another two. Unfortunately, no one actually helped us, they simply pointed in a general direction and left us to search on our own.nAs we couldn’t find the fitting kit, we ended up returning the mirror and shopping elsewhere. I won’t be returning to this store again.nI’ve visited several other B&Q stores, and the customer service has always been excellent, so this experience was very disappointing. It’s a real shame that my nearest store provides such poor customer service.
It is possible B&Q has the things you need. If you can find them is a different question. Im not sure if retail is dying or thats just the only way to do business in a world where, for example, toolbox storage systems are not actually in the section labeled such but rather smeared incoherently throughout the store as end caps - but with a selection poorly chosen by someone who must have barely understood the goal of the product or the intent of a buyer to select and construct a _set_. Of course a hundred employees could notice someone clearly frustrated with the incompetence of the corporate wingnut who directed this activity, but I also understand if the same level of MBA genius that never had to swing a hammer has disincentivized any concept of customer service. Poor show. Luckily their competitors know how to stack a shelf sensibly
I had a very disappointing experience at B&Q yesterday evening.nI bought a can of paint shortly before closing time, and the member of staff serving me appeared to be rushing as there were people behind me. Unfortunately, the paint lid was not properly secured before it was handed to me.nOn my drive home, I took a normal corner and the paint can tipped onto its side. Because the lid hadn't been closed properly, paint leaked everywhere, soaking the carpet and upholstery of my car.nI've already spent £200 on a professional deep clean, but the paint couldn't be fully removed. I'm now facing a bill of over £2,000 to replace the entire carpet so my car can be restored to its original condition.nI'm extremely disappointed that something as simple as ensuring a paint tin is properly sealed has resulted in thousands of pounds' worth of damage and a huge amount of stress. I'm hoping B&Q will take responsibility and resolve this matter fairly. Until then, I'd advise anyone purchasing paint to check that the lid has been properly secured before leaving the store.
