not sure what's happening here but it was once my fave place. the rooms are unique, comfy and quiet, the service terse but efficient and the location sublime. love this part of town and all that it has to offer. please come back updated and lovelier than ever, i miss you and so do many many others.Rooms: 3/5
This is an amazing hotel. The favourite hotel of Jack Nicholson, if you wish. Rooms are all different and really cosy. Service is great, so is location. At least once in your life, but you should get this "very London" experience. Enjoy!Rooms: 5/5
Lovely hotel in a great location, I love the dark interior. Breakfast was really nice, the bar is cosy and lovely. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Only negative is that our room looked a bit old and dusty though mould around the bathtub and you’d expect more toiletries in the bathroom too, but it was quite basic.
We went to the Blakes hotel restaurant last Saturday night without a reservation. We were greeted warmly then treated with delicious food and excellent service!!! Simone was our waiter and he served us brilliantly while regularly coming over to check that everything was okay during our meal - which it always was. Marta is one of the managers there and was excellently attentive while also ensuring that our experience was formidable. Classy, sophisticated, delicious with impeccable standards and service!
Booked for drinks at the bar 2nd October The interior is well designed, but the service is terrible. Constantly claiming to us that they are busy, we waited 40 minutes to be served a first drink, no water offered beforehand. The lady that welcomed initially claimed couldn't find the booking and didn't appear to be very customer facing. What a shame, so much potential given the venue, and despite only recently opened, they should concentrate on hiring staff with an eye on service. There are plenty of venues where you get treated well despite being busy.
I stayed here a while ago with my friend for a weekend. The hotel was beautiful. The reason I gave 2 stars is because of an incident that happened the night we stayed. We went out for a nice dinner with my boyfriend and his family, and came back at around 10.30 pm. As we were walking to the elevator, some guy at the front desk was shouting after us ‘excuse me, excuse me!’ It took him chasing after us to realize he was actually speaking to us. He then asked if he could help us. We said no... as we were going to our room to sleep. He then asked which room we were going to, as if he didn’t believe us. It was all a bit strange, and it took us a while to realize that as we were 2 nicely dressed young girls, we must have thought we were escorts of some kind! We did get free breakfast in the morning following our complaints. But honestly, still unbelievable. Will not be going back.
Shocking stay, awful room and food experience, rude staff and overall a very bad stay. Although this hotel had been highly reviewed everything about this stay was disappointing. The first room the amenities were not working and after three visits from the front desk and a tech hand, the issues were not fixed plus the discovery the door to the room didn’t lock. Only when the issue was raised to a complaint was there feedback that there were no other rooms. When asked what other solution they could offer the front desk went to the Manager the Manager would not come out of his office and there was an offer of another room where the shower door didn’t close. Although things worked in the new room, it was ultimately very tired, the floor in a particularly disgusting state. Then breakfast in the morning arrived without tea, coffee, OJ, butter, napkins etc. The food was inedible and old with the manager agreeing that he himself would not accept this standard after having to return it directly to the front desk as the issues were not taken seriously over the phone. All in all an awful stay and would not recommend this hotel.
If you're looking for a unique and cozy hotel with top tier service - you've found the hotel. My wife and I had flown to London on a red eye; by the time we got to the hotel we were exhausted. However we were quickly rejuvenated by the friendly hotel staff, the great food in their restaurant and a quick nap in the super comfortable beds. The hotel is also very close to a tube stop which made it convenient. We will definitely return to this gem on our next trip to London!
Overall package is amazing. The heartbeat of any hotel are the staff, the staff here ae amazing starting with the reception David , Victor and their staff greet you personally show you too your room , the restaurant and Bar run by Martina , with Alessio , Skye, Johnnie, Alissa and Paula, give exceptional service with that personal touch , making your experience like a home from home. Wonderful place
Not recommendable, very small rooms, unfriendly staff, decor rather on the dark side, plus they should think about renovating. Staff was not able to process a name change of the guests us correctly, so we ended up checking out after one day instead of two, with the money prepaid and non-refundable and therefore lost. All in all a very bad experience!
