Great location and nice staff. The room was clean and spacious and the bakery has great food for breakfast. However, I probably wouldn't return due to: - Windows didn't open properly and air conditioning didn't work so ventilation was poor and too hot at night. - it was quite expensive for what you get. It's not four star. - shower plug was blocked and didn't drain well Perfect for one night getaway and if you need to be in central London but not for a longer stay i don't think.
So after seeing this hotel online it looked very pleasent and the photos looked appealing so I wasn't worried and thought id bagged myself a real winner. We arrive and the staff were super helpful, we were excited to see our room after seeing the photos and unfortunately it was a bit of a let down, the room was "nice" but not £230 odd quid nice, pretty small and barely any surface for us to put anything, no desk/cabinet/side tables.. just one tiny chair in the corner of the room with one bedside table. The kettle, teas and coffees rested on top of the mini fridge. I want to give some positives, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and in the high July heat the air con worked amazing! The bathroom was also clean but again nowhere to put toiletries, no shelf or cabinet so we had to just rest our toiletries on the edge of the tiny sink. All in all it was a nice hotel but I won't be raving about it to others, I definitely think it's overpriced for what you actually get. The photos are pretty misleading in my eyes. The rooms are small and lack some pretty fundamental bits of furniture like bedside tables etc.. I'd give it 3 stars at best.
Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst seeing the shows. I would say that it is in a fabulous location which means you pay a premium. The staff team seemed lovely and room was clean. But in terms of standards expect typical bog standard rooms if I am honest a little smaller than I would like and we paid for the superior room. Also don't expect breakfast this is an extra. Would return purely for location.
The location of the hotel is very good, close to the Tube and Oxford street. The staff is nice and friendly. Now to the boring things .. the rooms are small and worn, light carpets that are stained and dirty, probably never cleaned, you do not want to put your feet down without slippers. The beds are old and uncomfortable. You can not look out the window as they are so dirty, probably not washed in several years. The pictures of the rooms shown on the website do not correspond to reality and I could not find the promised boutique experience. This four star boutique hotel has lost its luster and I would say the number of stars are too many. Right now and a few years from now, construction is underway outside the hotel, so if you want to sleep longer than 7 am, you should not choose this one.
Save your money for a business that really appreciate it! They will try to make you upgrade the room upon arrival. Don’t fall for it! It’s a complete bluff. We have paid an extra 105£ to upgrade to a “king size bed and a bigger room”, went up to the room, just to discover two single beds joining together in a tiny and noisy room. After complaining, the rude receptionist guy told us:” This is our definition for king size bed, you can go and build your own hotel.” After a long debate with the lady manager, we were refunded, not without a very noticeable sour faces. Good location, but a neglected place with very uncomfortable attitude. Save your money for someone who appreciate it. I’m not a reviewer, this was just two much to ignore.
Where to star with MyBloomsbury, considering the price I paid for a room here this was the worst stay I've had in a hotel. It was my wife's birthday which I mentioned on the booking. I wasn't particularly expecting any special treatment but on the booking confirmation we were told that they would provide "some complimentary treats from Gail's bakery" for our stay. I was also told on arrival that we had been upgraded to a "Superior" room. The reality was that nothing complimentary was provided from the bakery at all. The room looked nothing like the advertised images and was very sparse. The room itself was missing a sidetable!, the double bed was very small, the floor was not properly vacuumed and the shower was so slow draining that it was impossible to use for longer than a minute. After reporting all of this in the morning, the staff at the desk asked if apart from that my stay had been enjoyable? There isn't really anything left to enjoy if these key factors are all at issue. The only hint of caring was to potentially offer a vague discount on a future stay but as I don't intend to use the company again I feel that I've essentially been conned out of £300. I certainly wouldn't recommend using this hotel.
Really good location, nearby to underground station and Soho. We stayed in a superior room, it was clean and we had a nice view. Unfortunately the windows were high levelled so to see properly outside you have to stand on a chair. You also have coffee for free in your room. Friendly staff. Honestly it was good but we expected more, there are details that can be improved we had some problems with the flush and with the windows
Great hotel, fab location and the guy who checked us in was really friendly. The 'grab & go' breakfast was lovely - I have to say, I expected it to be rubbish, but it was great, we had a pastry, coffee & a smoothie each from the attached bakery. Hotel room had a bath and fridge which was brilliant due to having a toddler. Only downside - the view was a brick wall so felt a little claustrophobic, even putting flowers outside the window would have made that better. The cot was too soft, needed to be harder as toddler had a bad night sleep. But whoever prepared the room did a fantastic job. Two muslin cloths and 2 different blankets. Really lovely. Will use the hotel when back in this part of London - thank you.
Supposedly a 4 star hotel? Not on your nelly. I upgraded to a superior room fearful that a romantic weekend would be spoiled by being sequestered in a closet. Not worth it. One bed side table. One chair. Half of the stuff that is supposed to be there and chargeable is missing, presumably so they can screw a few more pennies out of you. Two sachets of sugar for a couple. We'd better make sure we don't use them all at once. Good location. Nice chap at the counter, but don't waste your hard earned on this place. You will get a better room at a Premier Inn.
Tiny room, noisy hotel, strange choices made, but nice breakfast and staff. I really wanted to like this hotel but the room I was given 406 was absolutely tiny. No circulation space, I was tripping over my stuff and the toilet was wedged between the shower and a wall so your shoulders were nearly touching both. The decor was nice and the single?! bed was very comfortable, but there was a lot of noise from other rooms and the floors above the hotel until gone midnight. The breakfast was delicious from Gail’s Bakery just very prescriptive, so you could only have 1 specific choice of juice, yogurt and pastry despite their amazing selection. It also took 15 mins to get a coffee so delayed me getting out to work. The lift and rooms require a 6 digit code rather than a key-card which is a strange choice and faffy if you can’t memorise it. The location was central but there were no views and the window was half frosted so you could have some light without staring into the offices directly opposite. For the price I just don’t think this can stack up as a good choice sadly.
