Wimbledon Station is served by the District line Southwestern and Thameslink trains and also Croydon Tramlink. There are two entrances and exits at this station along with a large / wide ticket hall. Inside the station is greggs, The cornish pasty company and other food outlets and a mobile phone repair store. There are toilets available here Wimbledon Station is a very busy station with passengers interchanging and leaving all the time there are ten platforms here three are for the district line and two are for Croydon trams the rest is for national rail trains. There is no disabled access here only stairs to the platforms. Very popular station and is extremely busy when Wimbledon tennis is also on.
This major train station offers underground, mainline, and tram services. It also serves as a main hub for visitors from around the world attending the prestigious Wimbledon tennis tournament each June and July.
Big station, big staff tram, helpful staff but sometimes not. This station have service with London Underground, rail and tram. A bus junction outside of station. It is easy to navigate. Big shopping centre next to station. Many pubs, cafes and restaurants around.
First time to use the tram.nnYou tap in at the gate but then have to tap down at the tram. I was stopped by person checking and told this otherwise would not have know. There is one sign on a cabin but nothing else I could see.nNot sure how it would work getting out of the barrier if you have to tap as you get off the tram.nnAs I got on the tram driver was shouting at passengers about what tram it was.nnOverall just a poor show.nnTram itself was ok to ride, clean and warm. Station is the real issue, and lack of info. Amazing how we never account for a person first using this system.
very good. major hub with service in basically all directions you could want to go, large platforms, 2 entrances. train frequency quite low on national rail routes, specifically Thameslink and southbound SWR services plats 8 to 9. note, I do advise checking where your train stops at when on platform 8, alot of people get confused thinking all trains stop at Raynes Park when some are fast to Surbiton
