I brought a car from Vital cars. This was the best thing I have ever done when it comes to cars. A really honest, trustworthy family fun business. I live in Surrey and would happily travel to them for minor repairs etc. Especially as it’s hard to find honest mechanics, garages. Thank you Vital cars for everything, including your recent support with another car matter.
Bought a Hyundai i10 from here several months ago as my first car. I was made to feel really confident, not pressured into buying as I was nervous, and was taken on a drive to get a feel for the slightly different clutch in the car. Car worked great for months, but then needed a new alternator over Christmas. The breakdown cover recommended by Vital Cars worked great - they picked up the vehicle, returned it to Vital Cars, who replaced the alternator for free with no question because of the warranty. I would definitely recommend, and feel comfortable that even if something else did go wrong that wasn't my fault, I'd be able to go back without a problem for the rest of my warranty!
I brought my first car last year from vital cars. Their service was amazing and everyone that works there was really helpful and friendly. If you’re looking for a new car I recommend going to vital cars. Frankie
There seems to be a theme if you look online at review sites so don’t believe the five stars on auto trader. One customer stated the warranty is not worth the paper it’s written on, I’d agree. Another states they are rude when there is a problem with the car, id agree, and one of the more recent reviews shows a lot of rust which was an advisory on a previous MOT but ignored on the MOT by vital cars and to be classed as dangerous to drive by a different garage, so please do have a look and a serious think! My story, I purchased a Peugeot 2008 from here in Dec 22. Within a month there was no engine oil so I thought they didn’t do a proper service and judging by that MOT I mentioned you can see why. So I emailed in, no reply, so I called. It went it they said oh it’s some dirt in the engine/piston rings we have put some conditioner in to shift it and it will be fine we will provide you will oil and see how you go, one of her favourite phrases is we don’t make them we just sell them. That didn’t work called again, took it in for same treatment, she said had a problem like this with a Qashqai second time solved it, but knowing what we know they obviously knew there was an oil leak but thought they try the cheap option. Come the summer I called up still an issue okay we will replace the engine I will get one from a scrap dealer, six weeks no response so I call again, she says she’s getting one in a few weeks, I asked for all this to be in an email and if the warranty will be extended for the engine, no, I don’t deal with things by email, obviously because it’s recorded and was very rude to deal with after a simple request for an email. I emailed in asking questions about the engine which was ignored. Car goes in engine changed then multiple fault codes, sensor changes and the cat converter needed changing which wasn’t covered under the warranty. I was advised under consumer rights act she should replace it, well the phone call which was heard by a seperate mechanic will tell you a lot, she accused me of breaking the cat converter as I went to a different garage from my normal one and used different petrol, the mechanic couldn’t believe it, she then told me don’t start going down the legal road I’ve been good to you if the codes come back on we will discuss it and hung up on me, the mechanic couldn’t believe that is how they treat a customer. She then refused to replace the cat converter which any mechanic knows was destroyed due to the amount of oil it leaked, it had gone through over 20 litres just with me. I had to get the converter changed to fix the vehicle but as she refused to do it and the car was under warranty I asked for it in writing that the warranty wouldn’t be void if I got it fixed, again refused to do that. More codes came up and I called and she said go to a local garage get the codes read, that was done and noted the codes, this happened a further 3 times and she said you need to get the codes so we can see what the issue is, the codes were the same all the time as I told her and she said my son is on holiday nothing I can do. She also said we shouldn’t have changed the engine and just supplied you with oil. So as you can see once there’s an issue they won’t fix it and fob you off. Warranty isn’t worth it! Disgraceful way to treat a customer! Please also note they are not signed up the motor legal ombudsman! They might be all nice to you when they sell the car but the moment there is an issue that changes and look at the reviews you will see that’s the pattern, also why are none of there reviews verified purchases like other traders? So please be warned of my experience. Of note “we don’t make them we only sell them” and we won’t buy/sell Qashqai’s or Peugeot 2008s again due to the issues they currently have a Qashqai for sale and recently sold a Peugeot 2008, so what does that tell you?
Had excellent and friendly service when my daughter was looking for a car, bought a Hyundai i20 they included a service and MOT and fixed anything that needed doing and a yrs warranty, would definitely recommend
Purchased a new car with ease with Vital. Angie was knowledgeable, honest & so helpful - no hesitation in completing my purchase. Fully recommend if you're looking for a tip top second hand car at a great price. Thanks so much for all your help.
Angie was absolutely the best help when buying my new car, answered any questions thoroughly and gave the best info which was a delight after negative experience with a previous garage, the car is spotless and having a years warranty is very reassuring. 100% recommend.
A really efficient business. Very helpful and polite. Bought a lovely car very quickly after ours was written off. Condition, mileage, and cheap Tax. Thank you Angie and Team.
Great young lady in reception, took me for a drive in the vehicle I was looking at. Second hand car 12 MOT and 1yr warranty. Highly recommended.
I bought my daughters first car here in 2022, I took it for its first MOT to be told the rear axel was severely corroded. I was told that this had been put as advisory in 2021 - an MOT that was not done by Vital Cars - but it was not mentioned when I purchased the car in 2022 with the MOT they provided. I have been told the car is dangerous to drive. I understand wear and tear happens but the amount of corrosion seen could not have been possible in just a year, and the records show this issue was advisory in 2021. They’ve conveniently failed to mention this, I believe it was the owners son that provided us with that MOT. I phoned the owner of Vital Cars to explain, and was told I was being ripped off by Halfords . Halfords had put the car on the ramp and showed us exactly what was going on at the rear of the car. Vital Cars’ only offer was to bring the car back for them to look at which I explained was not possible as the car was declared a danger to drive, alternatively I was told to pay for recovery from Basildon, Essex to Tonbridge, Kent! Disgusting customer service… Vital Cars were happy to sell a car knowing it was a danger!! There may be good reviews on here but I’ve noticed many have been published within a few months.. I’ll let everyone else judge for themselves. Reply to Mike: As you have pointed out, there are many different criteria for different components in vehicles, and as you say some components have clearly defined advisory and failure requirements. Others are subjective and down to the individual tester to make the final decision. As the manager and tester of the vehicle, you were responsible for making the final choice as to whether the issue should be mentioned, you decided not to mention it in the MOT report. Its funny how the previous MOT inspector labelled it advisory, and the inspector after your MOT labelled it dangerous… Surely if it was advisory in 2021, the condition of the car would’ve worsened by 2022. And yet, you claim that you did not notice this, nor think to mention it to us - the next buyer. You have mentioned that the corrosion of components and vehicle structure fall under subjective items, and that DVSA give only a 3 month period for an appeal to be made against corroded items from the date the MOT was carried out… What customer do you know who trusts the company they’re purchasing from would check the underneath of their car for corrosion after having been told that the vehicle had newly passed an MOT? Rejecting your offer to repair the vehicle, as you put it, was due to the fact that this “offer” required my daughter to drive the dangerous vehicle from Essex to Kent. You additionally informed us that, if we did not wish to take such a risk, we were to pay for a recovery vehicle to reach your garage instead. Therefore, I am deeply saddened that you believe this is an acceptable offer to make.
