Had a master cylinder fitted under warranty. Should've been free. My bike had been sitting over winter and had trouble starting to take it there. Started after about five minutes using kick start. Sturdeys had my bike for a couple of weeks and told me they couldn't get it started, would I like it serviced. I said I couldn't afford to get it serviced please do bare minimum to get it started. Cost me £91.50 Wish I'd said leave it, I'll start it with kick start when I get there.
Really friendly service and great price for the work. Definitely coming back when I need more repairs. Thanks guys!
Was there a couple of weeks ago buying a bike. They left a good impression on me and I'll be back again. Easy and pleasant to deal with and the ride home was great. There's something quite special about riding an AJS through the Kent countryside.
Took my Piaggio MP3 in which was having running problems. They diagnosed & fixed quickly. Great professional service, much appreciated.
Bought an AJS Modena scooter there last year. They dealt with a factory recall for me efficiently earlier in the year and recently did the first service. Helpful friendly people.
Was recommended to me by my misses as I needed to get a full system on the bike. Straight from the start I met a youngish bloke guessing is the son of the establishment he was very friendly and had good banter. Able to take a joke make another joke then be professional at the same time which is amazing! Booked in the bike which was stress free. Had to call a couple of times to see the progress of the bike, I get worried about my baby XD. The pricing was here and there took 8 hours or so to put the system on and the total was £300 but an exhaust stud did break off. I usually do my own maintenance but didn't want to tackle the remapping and getting corroded bolts off! they gave me pictures of what they had done which I've never experienced before! Pretty happy with these guys I'd go back to them.
I’ve bought several bikes from the Sturdey family over the last 14 years that I’ve been riding and I can honestly and truly say that I’ve never been anything other than totally satisfied with the whole experience. My husband has been dealing with them since 1980, so if that doesn’t tell you something, nothing will! I collected my latest bike from them only this morning and I’m absolutely over the moon with it. The Sturdey family have always been nothing other than kind, helpful and fair and have in fact gone above and beyond and I absolutely wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their business for all your motorcycling needs!
As an avid motorcyclist and local to Tonbridge - I felt that using and supporting local business is always better. This is my experience with them I feel this feedback was necessary, I first gave business to them with a piaggio scooter for a very little job - little did I know they went ahead and scared the hell out of me and told me the scooter engine is blown up and then charged me for it and I would need to buy a new one now - I was so scared with little resources I took it to another garage which was local and they fixed it and it never had any problems. I then went ahead and bought a RE and thought my past experience was horrid but I should give them another chance. So as a gesture of good will I purchased gear of over £150 to show my commitment to the shop and decided to book my RE service with them and also offered to run clubs with them so they can have business. I asked them to change the spark pug ,battery and break oil and battery connector - The gentleman took it and called me later about a flat tier so which I confirmed no worries they can change it - When I went back they had rewired the battery connector by making a hole. they did not change any of the items I had asked them to change - not even a spark plug. According to my knowledge the tier may have less pressure and leaving my motorbike with a terrible engine noise. So the total job was only for 1.5 hour which was to make hole in the battery connector and check for small tyre puncture - total parts costed about £15 pounds and the garage charged me over £200 for labour and I would have paid the amount but the fact they did not even care to tell me the cost before doing the job and charging me such a high amount and leaving my bike with weird engine noise and telling me to take it to the place I bought it from totally messed my trust in helping local garages . in this lockdown with low income this is by far the most cheated place I have ever visited - having been bitten once I feel it was my own mistake to give it another try to help this garage. It will haunt you back one day. If you don't run your garage ethically and with due diligence its not long that your business will go down. Thank God I did not buy my motorbike from you.
I don't know what happened in Mr Voaden's case but I have been using Sturdeys for about five years now. I am a very high mileage rider and get my bike serviced at least twice a year. I have always received great service, at the right price and a lot of useful tips.
The staff are helpful, honest and friendly. They gave me advice, mounted a different seat for me, and even sent me the original seat in the post at no extra cost. Brilliant shop.
