My husband and enjoyed a wonderful two nights at this glorious hotel. It really was a treat. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed; the house and grounds were very interesting, with lovely nooks and crannies to explore; my spa treatment with Raquel Spanish lady - I believe that was her name? was extremely relaxing; and the food in the Ox Barn on both evenings was excellent. The staff, however, were outstanding - a real asset to the whole hotel. Very well done to the whole team, especially the ladies on reception. We would love to return. Thank you.
Called in for Sunday lunch on our way back from Bath, we came in 2018 and it was 80% finished this time it’s complete and approached down a long parkland drive beautiful, They have done an amazing job on this place, beautiful taste and decor. We had a drink in the bar again lovely decor including the sheep ! I need one just need to save up from £7000….. lovely but ….. The Dining room Ox Barn is nicely laid out with a nice lounge to one side and the open kitchen very stylish. We were a table of 4 and all had Starters mains and deserts. No Sunday lunch menu but nice choice of meats and fish with sides of veg / Salad we had 2 x Lamb and 2 x Beef very nice, The Asparagus to start was 10/10 beautiful sauce, not a cheap place but deserves to be supported, we looked at the room prices and looked to start at £600 a night going up to £2000 a night so don’t think we will be staying anytime soon, shame because I could just see myself snuggling down in one of the seating areas with a bottle of wine, it really is like a Cotswolds home you dream of owning. Very very well done to the Lady who owns it,
The perfect escape, beautiful rooms, exceptional staff, delicious food. The kitchen garden is astonishing, incredible gallery space, a delightful shop with relatable items for sale. Easy ride to Burford and the surrounding countryside. This isnt just a hotel, this is a love project - where true passions fills every corner it owns.Rooms: 5/5
We came here to celebrate my birthday and the experience from start to finish was fantastic. The service was discreet but highly attentive and the venue and facilities were great. Everything from the rooms, to the food and the spa exceeded my expectations and we will be back. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5
Just had wonderful overnight at Thyme. Service and food in restaurant outstanding. Very well looked after by Nick, Nathalie and Kirra. They all went the extra mile to make our stay special. Lovely touches include in room hamper for a pre-breakfast breakfast and a hot water bottle delivered to the room. Together with the sublime bed and bedding we were ensured a perfect night’s sleep. . Couple of niggles but nothing to marr Cotswold heaven.
What a place!!! I simply call it ThymeLand now , because just by entering the gates you are greeted by those lovely dark brown wool covered 'knights', and there's lots of them, and when you start thinking that all is too good for you to be in the right place there you see ' Thyme ' with all its beauty. If you are lucky as I was , you'll get the chance to meet Milly the general manager, or Penny the marketing consultant which will simply emerge you in an captivating world ,structured by these 'offaly long' wood beams, perfectly preserved never seen anything like that and they will talk you through on how everything started . The rooms are just full of details, calls you to ask 100 questions on ' how did you think on doing that ? ' so original. It's own website , everything I've seen and heard about the place , it makes all the justice in the world ,and more. And the food there , would simply continue Milly's story ,where eating with your eyes is more than an old saying of true wisdom. FAREWELL ThymeLand, looking forward to coming back .
The location is fantastic. The property is laid out beautifully with lush gardens and water features. The atmosphere makes you want to pause and reflect, which was the purpose of our few days off. The spa is beautiful and we were very well looked after. The pool was warm and inviting. I also appreciate the fact that there was no plastic anywhere in the room- admirable effort!
My partner and I had an incredible stay at Thyme last weekend. From the moment we arrived, we felt looked after. The staff are super friendly, helpful and professional. The small details really made the stay such as wellies and umbrellas provided for rainy days, and a hot water bottle brought to our room in the evenings. Our room was beautifully decorated with a colourful, nature inspired design, and it was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. The Bertioli bath products are also divine. Loved the food at the Ox barn, too. Can't wait to go back!!
It's a beautiful place - airy and warmly decorated. But that's not made me want to write the review. The customer service was really lovely. On one day, we experienced a power cut across most of the village. But the staff were so helpful, especially in the dog friendly Baa bar. Thank you Thyme staff.
An absolutely stunning hotel. A huge thumbs up for their focus on sustainability. Waste is compostable wherever possible, plastics avoided, and the majority of foods seem to be locally produced. A suite of electric charging points for cars was available for free. Staff were welcoming and friendly whilst remaining relaxed. Vegan options were accommodated happily at the restaurant. Cloudlike beds, where hot water bottles magically appeared each evening, made for excellent sleeping. The rooms had enchanting décor: the wallpaper game in this hotel is on point. Would 100% recommend for a relaxing getaway, what a treat!
