A lovely old pub/restaurant. We ate in the pub part, the service was friendly and food was good. The decor was becoming dated, how many animal heads do you need on the walls? Overall would recommend for a meal. Food & drinks: Very good selection and quality.
Great little pub/restaurant in the very picturesque village of Langford. Busy loud, but in a good way and vibrant atmosphere. Food and service was really good, not cheap, but good value. Menu options were fairly typical for a food oriented village pub with the addition of a selection of pizzas. Vegetarian/vegan options were slightly limited. All in all, a very enjoyable visit and meal! October 2022.
We had a delicious roast at The Bell, the beef was perfectly cooked, even the roast potatoes were good, which is rare for restaurant roasts. The service was excellent, we were neither rushed nor abandoned. This alone would've warranted a five star review, but I also lost a pearl from my necklace while there and they not only found it after service had finished, but very kindly returned it by post, above and beyond their usual service responsibilities! We will definitely return.
Really one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Quiet Wednesday lunchtime, we were the only ones in there, and yet absolutely beautiful, fresh, piping hot, delicious food. Could have stayed in there forever.
The pub itself is a good traditional pub, I’m local to the area and enjoy eating out. This visit was Sunday roast, the pub was busy and we were seated swiftly. We ordered roast chicken, roast beef and some drinks. Generally the service was ok. When the roast came I was disappointed to say the least, I had sirloin of beef which looked like bacon rasher thin slices and my friend had some sliced chicken breast put together it couldn’t have even been a whole breast Both very my very far from what you expect for £22 for sirloin and £18 for roast chicken, and when the competition is far more generous. I will say that the veg etc was tasty, but the meat portions were atrocious. The waitress came to check on us and I quietly said that I was surprised and not satisfied with the meat portions. Here reply of “well that’s how we do it and everyone else is happy with it” didn’t go down well. We are, paid in full and I wrote the management an email explaining my dissatisfaction with photos, a week later I sent another and also completed the feedback email I was sent. To this day I have not received any form of reply, which given the poor response when I was in the pub, didn’t surprise me having left it. Poor show the Bell at Langford, I won’t likely return, there are better places.
The food was nice, but after our starters we waited over an hour for our mains. The baby change facilities are non existent and we were forced for change our baby on a dirty landing floor, covered in coal soot. No apology for late food, just the full price bill.Service: 1/5
We didn't stay there Food was quality Service was great They over cooked our steak but replaced it with a smile and doesn't rush to bring it out. As we shared all things with 4 of us, so it worked out quite well.
We enjoyed our stay, room comfy if a bit small and no chairs, but nice and clean v. Not easy to find, but lovely location once there. Could do with sorting out a minor fly problem at breakfast in the restaurant.Rooms: 4/5
I have to say that this has been the best pub fish and chips I’ve ever had. Excellent food and a great pint of Guinness. Staff totally charming and attentive, but discretional where required. As a man of good taste, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Bell, as a local from the area and also from london.Service: 5/5
Excellent service, atmospheric interior, great food. This pub has everything. On the day we were there it was about 4°C outside, so the wood fire was also much appreciated!
