This place is old.... really old. Its right on the highway and so finding it easy. The new owners took over in 2016 and one can see renovation in progress everywhere. It also has a pub and restaurant which is a boon. The rooms are clean and the wash rooms awesome. Our room even had a bathtub.

This place was found on the Internet and chosen by reasonable cost. On arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner. Our details were checked, we paid, and we're escorted to our room accompanied with friendly dialogue. The room was quite large, at the rear of the hotel away from the busy A40. The en suite had a bath with shower, basin and dressing table, & was quite large compared to most hotels. The room included 4 post bed with drapes, wardrobe, TV on table and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast, included in room cost, was full UK or continental, with some variations on request. This was served in the dining area near to the bar. This was a one night stay for us an we would have been happy to have stayed longer had plans not dictated otherwise. Recommended, just check menu options if vegan…

Arranged an afternoon tea party for my mother-in-law's 90 birthday . The food and service was excellent , nothing was to much trouble. Will be going again and can thoroughly recommend them. It's a lovely gem to have on your doorstep

Great pub, lovely food friendly people. And well behaved dogs welcome too. Great to find a Fish Specials menu as well.
