Good location and friendly service. However, the room is quite small with one king bed pretty much taking all of the space. The water pressure for the shower could be a lot better as well. The walls are not well insulated so you can hear people talking from the next room. The gym on the second floor is okay and has free water bottles available which is nice.
The positives - amazing location within walking distance to shopping, great food, attractions and transit. The front door staff are very attentive. The hotel itself is very very clean, and the rooms towels/bedsheets etc very clean as well. They have a number of food options within the hotel both in-room dining and through Polo Bar and the restaurants. Tons of food options immediately outside as well try Piccolo or Sketch. The negatives - staff at restaurants and Polo Bar were very rude. The rooms are small compared to North American standards. No turn-down service provided. The bathrooms are even smaller - and they really need to upgrade the showers as they have a filthy shower curtain. There was construction on the floor above and/or below us so if we wanted to sit in the room during the day - that wasn't feasible. Be sure to ask for a quiet room. The stores in the area are very high end so be ready to drop a few thousand dollars if shopping here. The hotel staff are not super helpful and won't give you tips like "take transit to the airport - its actually cheaper and quicker!".
Fabulous staff & great standard of service. Only downside for us, was our room, which was small & not easy to relax in. No real drawer space & wardrobe was tiny. We had to use the backs of the 2 small chairs to hang our outdoor coats on. The wardrobe was too crammed to hang them in there. Bathroom was very very small & not comfortable at all. I wish I’d upgraded, if I stay here again I’ll definitely pay for a bigger room. Location is absolutely perfect. Right next door to ALL designer stores. Short walk to Oxford & Regent Street. We used cabs to get around, there were always cabs waiting outside. Restaurant is great, as is the polo bar. Staff are outstanding!
Love this hotel! The staff is warm and friendly. Now it’s Christmas time and it’s the best location to be in. There are seasonal decorations everywhere. The hotel itself and the suite is extremely cozy. I couldn’t have picked a better hotel to spend a week in London while I work and have fun. The turndown service is also nice. Perfect hotel in a perfect location.
The best thing about the hotel is its location, just by Bond street and with Regent street 2 minutes away. The room size was good compared to other hotels in the UK. Room service food was very low standard, we were served a burnt pizza. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff were attentive and friendly. However, throughout our stay there was some sound coming from a machine which we heard every 5 minutes. It was annoying but we got used to it. I would stay there again but will not order any room service.
Here for a business meeting in the bar. Staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. The Earl Grey tea was probably the best I have ever tasted - wonderful. As for the champagne list...I dearly wish I had deep enough pockets to spend a year's salary on a bottle of booze. It did get a little hot, and I wonder why they didn't turn the air conditioning on earlier. However, when asked, they sorted it promptly. This is a luxurious hotel where the staff will look after you in the manner in which you wish you could afford to become accustomed.
I expected more from a hotel with such a name and reputation. Service can definitely improve. Room service was very good and the room service food is really good, but staff didn't always have the best attitude. Requests were often not seen to and had to be requested a few times before they would do what was asked. Not very child friendly.
Location is great and staff is really second to none, everyone I interacted with was beyond friendly and helpful. However, you can see Marriott's signs of monetization maximization and lack of flavor given the standardization. Rooms are fairly small, corridors and decoration are uninspiring as is the bathroom. Didn't try the food but would be surprised if it was any more creative.
Long established hotel. Very clean. Rooms are a bit tight but comfortable. Rooms on the backside of the hotel have to deal with a lot of noise from the garbage men every early morning 6-7am?. Gym has great weights and appreciate the water / fruit. Only one bench to share is inadequate as the gym is always full.
I have stayed here many times because of family. It is expensive, rooms are pretty small, noisy trains, construction and service is spotty and feels preferential. Restaurants are nice both of them . Staff are kind and try to help, but they can't help that the hotel is a 3 star pretending to be a 5 star. I felt the same way about brown's so I think it's about what you'd expect in mayfair. You won't be terribly sad to be here but it won't be a highlight.
