We stayed at the Cavendish Hotel for a long weekend and enjoyed the stay very much. The hotel is located near St. James Park and Piccadilly Circus and is on a walking distance from many museums, shopping, and attractions. There is an abundance of restaurants in the area, and Soho is very near if you fancy some nightlife. The staff is friendly and correct, and one employee in particular stood out - Ahmed, one of the bell men, was incredibly helpful and service-minded, always with a smile and positive mindset. The rooms are good, but haven’t been renovated for a while. We stayed in a junior suite and it was spacious with a nice view. The beds are comfortable with several different pillows. We may stay here again at our next visit.
We loved this hotel! The location is perfect, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room has everything you need, although it is a bit small. It was clean and well-maintained. We appreciated being able to borrow a few US-to-Britain chargers, and they provided scales and helped us weigh our luggage.Rooms: 5/5
Was looking forward to a stay at the Cavendish but was extremely disappointed. The lobby was beautiful the staff was very nice when I got to the room it was very small and very dirty stains all over the floor, chips in the bathtub and no place to put any toiletries. As the bathroom is extremely small. I looked at three other rooms but they were all very similar there needs to be a major upgrade to this hotel. I would not stay there again spent one night only and then left. Rooms: The room was extremely small and very dirty even when you got off the elevator the hallways had stains everywhere slight odor as well Nearby activities: Many things to do as it is near Piccadilly circus Safety: Felt very safe Walkability: Location was great Food & drinks: Was not able to get anything to eat between 5 and 6 as I had been travelling over 30 hours the kitchen was closed for an hour I just wanted room service Noteworthy details: I believe there's a lot of attention that needs to be done to the daily upkeep of a hotel with the 4 1/2 star rating I rated as a two
The worst reception and service experience i have ever experienced. 1. Turned up and was greeted by a new member of staff who was unable to perform any action without the help of a supervisor, this meant non of my questions and requests were answered. They ask you if you have any preference in room when you arrive and then completely ignore your response. 2. I rang reception 4 times due to an issue with my room and ended up having to go downstairs to reception in person because no-one was answering. 3. The biggest one. This hotel was paid for by my company and i instructed them 3 times to please only take payment on the company card provided. This was confirmed by two separate reception staff - and what do i find a few days later? They charged my personal card and i now cant get through to reception to get this rectified because they don't answer their phones. Dreadful
I could not be more grateful to have stayed at The Cavendish during our recent trip! Staff were ever eager to help out where possible, making us feel truly at home. Our 11-month-old was greeted with cheery smiles each time we entered the lobby, and was so comfortable throughout our stay. Rooms were well-fitted with helpful amenities, and it's a few steps away from the tube and a stone's throw from the shopping district. The Cavendish would be our go-to every time we stop by London! To the team behind it all, thank you so much for everything :
Water wouldn't get hot - at best it was luke warm. Very noisy location. People yelling at 4 am. Bed was also very hard. No free drinking water even when dining at the bar. We were charged 8 pounds for a bottle of water to go with our food and drinks. The food from the bar was excellent and staff very friendly.Rooms: 2/5
pros: - very good location with tesco, fortnum and mason and other cafes nearby - very comfortable beds and pillows, good water pressure. room is old but things worked well. - helpful and friendly service cons: - strong and unpleasant stale perfume smell in the room caused by the scent diffuser which not everyone may like - breakfast spread is a little limited.
I had a wonderful time at the Cavendish hotel, which is second to none for its location in London. Although the rooms are small, this is par of the course with a capital city In the northern hemisphere. I did not feel as though the price was unreasonable per night, and I have stayed with the hotel on multiple occasions over several years. It is my go to for accommodation in London. Jeremiah, one of the bell porters, was very helpful and always had a warm disposition when communicating with me. He is an excellent front of house employee for the Cavendish and is worthy of recognition for his professionalism.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Cavendish London Hotel, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The location is fantastic, situated in the heart of London, making it incredibly convenient for exploring iconic landmarks and vibrant neighborhoods. Upon arrival, the staff greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism, setting a positive tone for my stay. The check-in process was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a beautiful room with stunning views of the city.
I am very disappointed with the handling of my deposit refund. It's been over two weeks since I checked out, and I have yet to receive my £100 deposit back. Despite writing more than 5 emails, I have received no response. For a hotel of this star rating, I expected much better service. I've had to make multiple phone calls, waiting over 10 minutes just to be transferred between different departments. This has been incredibly frustrating. The stay itself was fine, and the staff were polite and helpful, even going as far as pressing the lift buttons for me. However, I feel that this situation is an attempt to take advantage of tourists, especially those living abroad, by making it extremely difficult to resolve issues like this.
