This hotel is in an excellent location - just opposite the London Eye! And only around the corner from Buckingham Palace! I was not expecting everything to be so close when we booked. The staff were excellent and very helpful when it came to checking in and storing our luggage. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The bed was king-sized and comfortable. The breakfast buffet in the morning had plenty of variety and was consistently well-stocked. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely go again
Rooms are spacious and interior is beautiful. Also nice rooftop terrace where you can have drinks or food. Staff is very polite and did everything to accommodate us. Cannot understand the bad reviews here. If you want a five star hotel, you need to pay for one. This hotel is value for money.
I stayed at The Royal Horseguards Hotel and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The historic building is absolutely stunning and the Victorian grandeur combined with the elegant, contemporary comfort makes for a truly unique and luxurious stay. The location on the River Thames at the Embankment is perfect for those looking to explore London, especially with its close proximity to Westminster and the Museum. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed, making for a comfortable stay. Overall, I would highly recommend The Royal Horseguards Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and historic stay in London.
We stayed at the Royal Horseguards Hotel last weekend for the Remembrance Sunday ceremony, it's a lovely hotel with clean, well appointed rooms, and the staff were ALL absolutely lovely - faultless. The breakfast on the other hand... cold plates, and lukewarm at best food. Staying at any hotel at this price point for us is a real treat, so we really expected better. We'll take many happy memories from our stay, but are unlikely to return anytime soon
This hotel was AMAZING!!! I had never been to London but was told to stay in Westminster and I’m so happy to have stayed in this hotel. The hotel is near less than .5 mil in any direction most things tourists want to see . It’s situatuted in a beautiful area of London as well. First off, it’s beautiful inside and out. DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST, because it’s the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel. A full array of meats, cheeses, breads and side dishes. Most days I skipped lunch because I ate too much at breakfast! The room was amazing and clean. The bed was larger than expected most European hotel beds are smaller and it was very comfortable. The staff is fantastic. I wanted to visit a popular restaurant and asked the staff to make me a reservation. They immediately called and said the restaurant was full, but the restaurant had a sister location in Chelsea that they already called and had availability. They called a cab for me and it ended up being one of my best meals on our trip across Europe. All of this to say, I will be staying there again and I would highly recommend this hotel.
This should not be a five star hotel for $500 a night. First, upon arrival it was impossible to get a hold of the front desk even using the bedroom phone. I had zero cell signal. I got locked in a stair case and could not call, but had family calling and they did not answer. My hotel door did not have a deadbolt lock, which made me feel very unsafe considering what I had already experienced. The room came with complimentary beer and wine but no openers. Had to call 5 times to get an opener and they brought me a wine opener hours later, even though I explained I cannot have wine. The staff would come into my room and linger even though I stood with the door open and did not want to have them in there with it shut. I ordered room service and the wrong beers were brought at least 3 times. The restaurant was very less than average. I booked a tour bus with the hotel and the tour was so horrible I got off after one stop and did a self guided tour. Would not recommend. Only positive was the location which was walking distance to most attractions.
An excellent hotel, centrally located and very well appointed. I stayed in a ‘single’ room but it has a double bed in it. The rooms had everything you’d expect, plus a little more. Couldn’t hear my neighbours and slept very well. Walking distance from everything the West End can throw at you!
Great place to make your base while on vacation or on business. It was nice to know that at the end of the day I would be returning to a comfortable and well maintained room. The breakfast buffet was always being refreshed and there was enough selection to have a full English breakfast or a bowl of yogurt with fruits. The only thing I could say might need an update is the restaurants dinner menu. That being said, there are tons of restaurants all around so there's always a place to grab a bite to eat. Worth staying in, and would stay again.
This hotel failed to impress on many levels. We stayed here for two nights in July as part of a Sound Travel Abba package and thought we were paying £300+ per night for 5* facilities. 1. We were kept waiting past our check-in time in reception as our room had not been cleaned. 2. The room had a 'window' facing a dark inner courtyard with obscuring film and could not be opened. As the basic definition of a window is "opening in the wall or roof of a building or vehicle, fitted with glass in a frame to admit light or air and allow people to see out" this does not count as a window and the website photos of a guest room with normal windows are misleading. 3. The complimentary mini-bar turned out to be 2 bottles of water, 2 cans of fizzy pop and 1 very small bottle of wine, enough for half a glass between two persons. 4. The complimentary toiletries very tiny bottles - enough for 1 person, not two. 5. The tea and coffee making facilities were 4 pods of coffee and a machine, but no milk, sugar or tea bags. On the positive side, the hotel had good door staff, the breakfast suited our needs, and the location is excellent. None of this would be enough to persuade us to stay here again, especially the window issue, which is a deal-breaker.
My favourite Hotel in London. You feel like royalty staying here. Very friendly and helpful doorman. The breakfast buffet is to die for. It's also in an incredibly convenient location. Right beside embankment station, but not crowded outside the hotel. Very quick walk to amazing sights.Rooms: 5/5
