Stunning, cosy and welcoming village pub which serves incredible food every time. Ben is the perfect host and all the staff are great. Every time I visit there are new items in the menu to try which is great. My faves include the Sunday roast, the bubble & squeak starter and the braised beef cheek was superb. So worth a visit if you’re looking for great food and a great atmosphere. An hour from London at most and well worth the journey!
What a beautiful little pub. We have driven past so many times and have always said we should go. This is possibly our new favourite Oxford pub! The setting was beautiful, the pub adorable, the food incredible and the host and staff were so welcoming. We can't wait to come back very soon!
Hands down the best Sunday roast I've had. I have been here a dozen times for food and always been blown away by the experience. The food is amazing, the staff are attentive but not over bearing and the atmosphere is brilliant. Also, they have a pub dog called Monty, now if that isn't enough for you to go then what is?!
We were visiting family in London from Portugal and decided to make the journey out for our fix of "English countryside" as if seen photos of the pub and it looked very quintessential! Ben the landlord is very welcoming and knowledgable - he has some great ales on tap too. We had a drink at the bar amongst the cosyness - the fire roaring and drinks flowing - we ordered starters and mains - service was timely, not to quick and not too slow, and most importantly delicious! Classic pub dishes but elevated slightly without the price tag!. We had pigs in blankets YUM, beetroot gravalax even more YUM, scallop gratin and chicken liver paté to start, followed by the Christmas turkey burger. Let me tell you it was like a fried chicken burger with lashings of cranberry sauce, bacon and greens - the sauce - gravy!! INSPIRED! One of the best Christmas sandwiches ever - would travel for it! The inside is small, maybe 6 tables for dining, so perfect to hear each other and not pack rammed even so close to Christmas, just so enjoyable especially as we were with my in-laws. A must go pub just 40 mins from London.
Amazing food and friendly service. One of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had. The fish of the day was also amazing. Good music and awesome owner. Made our day
An amazing walk around Albion Barn Gallery an amazing lunch at the Lamb Inn. Following a recommendation from Albion Barn we turned up at the recently refurbished and under new ownership Lamb Inn. The welcome could not have been friendlier. Great lunch incuding the Curry of the month beef, Seafood Linguine, Bream fish of the day Dark Chocolate Honeycombe and Italian Meringue. Lovely setting, fabulous food and really friendly service....
Cute place and great food! We had a fish and chips, Sunday roast, and catch of day! All great! The manager is a lovely guy. Highly recommend!
This is an excellent pub. We ordered the Lemon Sole and Turkey Burger which we would have paid twice the price for because it was far higher quality than you’d expect from a little pub like this. Beautiful setting and warm fire as it was quite cold. The owner Ben was incredibly friendly and all the staff too. You must go if you get the chance, highly recommend!
Stopped for a quick bite a couple weeks back, they were perfecting their Negroni recipe and let us join in. Staff very friendly and can’t do enough for you. Can’t wait to come back to fully try the menu.
New ownership. The meal was extremely quality as was the service. Very reasonably priced and the portion are generous. "Nibbles" would be a main course in other restaurants. Good choice of wines, but sensible prices. A must enjoy venue, but don't tell anyone ;- keep it special
