Kings Arms
"The famous Kings Arms is the oldest pub in Oxford, built in 1607 and still standing in its original position. We're quite possibly also the brainiest pub in Oxford too, known for having the highest IQ per square foot of anywhere in the world! Loved by Oxford scholars and tourists alike, renown for fine cask ales, hearty homemade food and our resident ghost."

Good pub. Our first stop in Oxford. Try the Scotch Egg and Meat Pie. You won’t be sorry. I also had the fish and chips - delightful. You really can’t go wrong.
Great pub. Has a nice warm friendly old style pub feeling and lots of space inside. Toilets are down a long flight of stairs so be careful. Cheesy chips and coffee were fantastic. Great service and brought the food out to the outside table for us.
A lovely warm and cozy establishment, with a lively and busy atmosphere for the lunchtime trade. The starter of white bait was absolutely delicious although the salad looked a bit tired and limp. However the fish was cooked very well and the overall presentation and portion size was good for the price of £8.00 Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the main course of ham, eggs and chips. The eggs were under cooked and therefore slimey so I didn't touch the second one. The ham was very tasty and of ample portion, but the small handful of chips didn't balance it. I did mention the eggs at the table check but nothing came of it. The overall dish was flat, boring and lacked garnish for colour and good presentation. I didn't find this value for money at £13.75 The meal was accompanied by a pint of 'Proper job' a very tasty and earthy beer that went down very well. I have to say I didn't appreciate being served my main whilst half way through eating my starter. I didn't think when ordering that it would be necessary to say. The overall experience will not deter me from visiting again as I've yet to try their signature Scotch eggs and another pint of that lovely beer!
Classic old pub with cosy rooms and a great student atmosphere. Lots of history written and depicted on its walls, including photos from the visit of Secretary of State John Kerry. Guinness was good! The pub is well situated and nearby to the centre of town and a bunch of colleges. The toilets are a bit out of touch with the rest of the place, but toilets are toilets: maybe just a good clean is needed!
A storied and historic pub in central Oxford with an active group of local and university patrons. The brews were good, but the food was only okay. I recommend only for those interested in the history of big names that have gone there in the past.
Had an evening meal here whilst on a short break with friends. Three of us had classic burgers, two had sausage and mash with onion gravy and the other party member had the steak and ale pie. All of the food arrived within 20mins and very hot. None of us found any fault with the quality, quantity and price of our meals. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pub had a good atmosphere. We would recommend a visit if ever you are in Oxford.
The epitome of traditional Oxford pubs, right down the snug type rooms in the back where you'll find the comfy leather sofas. Bit pricey and the landlord assuming that's the bald guy in black is a tad grumpy 'are you looking for a table...I've got nothing' only to then find a perfect one out back but the food was superb, great atmosphere, saw families there looking happy and there are no less than four leather sofas in the back. Highly recommended.
Pub in a good location. Think it's the manager who was wondering around, sorry to say, but very rude. Made us all feel very uncomfortable and for this reason we would not go to the pub again. Food was fine, little on the greasy side and not a huge choice of wines, but apparently this is due to the change in menu that is coming. Nowhere to change a child in the toilets so not good on that front. I did ask and was told this. One good thing, the tall guy that worked behind the bar was nice, friendly and made up for the other guys attitude.
Best pub food I’ve ever had! We came here for an event, not the food, but shared a few dishes between us and ended up ordering more and more. The steak and ale pie and the sticky toffee pudding were sensational. My friends also ordered a scotch egg not even knowing what it was and loved it. Highest recommendation!
A beer in an Oxford pub. Plus great food, plus great place, plus history embroidered in its walls. What else can you ask for ?
