The Marsh Harrier
"The Marsh Harrier is a cosy and inviting pub tucked away down a side-road off of the Cowley/Oxford Road. We serve a selection of well-kept real ales and fresh locally sourced food everyday. Outdoor seating and a covered smoking area can be found out the back in our beautiful sun-trap garden. Very family-friendly and dogs are also welcome if kept on a lead. Join us at 8pm on Sundays for our weekly pub quiz. We also host a very popular music quiz on the first Monday of every month."

Most enjoyable and real local pub. Nice friendly atmosphere. Did beers and dinner here while watching the rugby less said about Eng performance the better. Dinner for 2 plus drinks £55. Nice place. Recommended.
Arrived early as soon as doors were open, 11.50 am Sunday, friendly staff who took order at the bar. Had Sunday Roast beef with all trimmings. Looked a bit light on the veg, when arrived, but when finished was totally stuffed. Asked for horseradish sauce to accompany. Plenty of slices of beef too. You won't go hungry here!!!
Went for dinner here with family. Really lovely food, good service and a warm, cosy place. Would higly recommend.
This is a nice little pub tucked away in Oxford. We went there for an after exam lunch with 15 to 20 ppl. We got there a bit early which stressed the owner out to begin with. Once tables were clear they were promptly cleaned and we were seated. The food came out nice a quick and was OK. The dessert looked good. But there was a lack of gluten free or dairy free dessert.
Having visited on many occasions, I'm beginning to notice the difference in service and expectation. The Staff are argumentative, slow and the waiting time for food has become longer and overall a disappointing experience. Unfortunately no longer value for money I have revisited this pub many times since my last review and have enjoyed excellent Sunday roasts again. I have not only enjoyed the food, atmosphere and wonderful service but also the fun conversations with the owner Jimmy and his hard working staff. I still haven't ventured out into the rear garden area yet but look forward to doing so when the weather changes for the better. Well done everyone, I look forward to visiting again soon!
Staff is welcoming and nice, beers and drinks in general are a good deal. Food is not up to any standard. The "fresh dough wood stone baked" pizza is frozen and rehited in the electric oven. Tasty frozen pizza, but £10 for it is a robbery. The chicken wings plate don't remember the exact price, but something like £5.5/£6 consists in 3 flavourless chicken wings and some arugola in the middle. Won't eat there again and don't recommend it. Very pricey for the quality and amount of food. Pretty disappointed.
Not very often I give a 5 star but had a good meal on Sunday and returned Monday. Food was great. Service 100%. Could not pick a fault. Will return next time in Oxford.
One of my favorite pubs in Oxford and definitely a must visit in Cowley. The pizzas offered at The Marsh Harrier are absolutely phenomenal and probably the best I have had during my entire time and travels in the UK. Highly recommended and looking forward to my next visit to the Marsh Harrier.
Went for Sunday Lunch. Very friendly professional staff. Had squid for starter, absolutely delicious. Nice and light batter, almost melt in the mouth squid. Had the 3 meat roast option, great value and a full tasty plate. Could not manage a dessert. Maybe next time as we're going back for pizzas and half price Prosecco on Wednesday . Ps good drinks selection too, the Seafarers is a great pint
Cosy and nice pub. Have huge garden. Great customer service. Nice place to come with your better side, family and kids. We ordered few pints and food pica four seasons and medium steak. Would say that pica was bit overoasted and actually I expected cheese on potato chips instead on steak but otherwise food was delicious. Also at the end we got free lemon shots nice surprise :. Also you can come there watch football. Pub have special menu for kids, and special Sunday roast menu. Also pub have quiz nights on Sundays.
