Argyle on tour!! Oxford away and we found this pub a mile from the stadium and probably the closest. Lovely Landlady/Manager and great hospitality. Great sports memorabilia everywhere on ceilings and walls. Doesn't appear to be frequented by Oxford fans bizarrely. Smells of damp and could do with loads of TLC but nevertheless deserves appreciation...no food served but Argyle fans were ordering on Deliveroo and gettingit delivered....how times have changed....
Ever seen a film where the person walks into a pub and everyone stops and, stares, like you were some alien... .... Well, the George is one pub like that. No ale, no atmosphere...well, it has an atmosphere I suppose an unwelcome one. The barmaid was quite pleasant though. Shame, it used to be welcoming, with friendly locals. The only time I go near there again is when I get off the bus from the city.

Fantastic pub. Travel back in time. Dartboard. Pool. Juke box style music. Decorated with football paraphernalia. Net curtains in the loos. I love this pub, for transporting me for a while back to the 70s. The good old days.

Went to the george inn only a couple of times was told I come in if I kept myself to myself I met some people who I knew in there was only drinking soft drinks did nothing wrong and was well behaved one evening I went back was told to stay away and not to come in as the people in the pub wanted to beat me up the most disgusting and horried pub I know stay away at all cost I never did go to trading standards but sure will be reporting it maybe not for my safety but other people's safety especially when I was in hospital and I wasn't well for me that's just lowest of the low
