Cannot praise this place highly enough, visited twice so far on our week visiting the area and going for a third tomorrow night such was the quality of the food, absolutely scrumptious and can't fault it or the service. Chrissy the landlady is lovely and can't do enough, as were the other staff we encountered including Eileen. Friendly locals, very dog friendly, great ale, lovely open fire, can't wait to come back next year.
This is a wonderful local pub it has three open fires. The food is fresh cooked and delicious, service is quick and friendly. And The Pork Bigos is perfect! Smoky tender meat with sauerkraut! Delicious hot apple crumble to follow. Perfect with a with a tasty cask pint!
Want a locals pub, with a roaring coal fire, local ales, hearty home cooked meals…. If you’re ever in Embleton then stopping here would be a no brainer. Wonderful
Fantastic last minute find. Staff couldn't have been more lovely. Food was outstanding!
Credit to Chrissy for returning this great local pub to the community. Always warm and welcoming to all, including our doggie companions. Well kept beer and good honest food. As a regular visitor to Embleton I'm really pleased to see this pub consistently there again, firstly for local community but also for visitors who love this village.
We have just had a drink at The Greys Inn while waiting for our fish n chip takeaway. The staff were very friendly, the pub relaxed and warm with an open fire each end, and dogs welcomed. The sauvignon blanc was a good one, unlike many pub wines. We enjoyed our meal: very nice whitebait, then fish done to perfection and a good size! skin-on chips and peas. We were really pleased and hope to go back for more while we're staying in Embleton. Thank you
Recently stayed In the village and ate at The Greys Inn twice . Excellent meals at reasonable prices good selection to choose from . Friendly staff and welcomed by the locals. Log fires certainly visit again.
Excellent meals at reasonable prices, served by friendly and attentive staff. We had white bait, scampi and homemade steak & ale pie. The Greys is a rural pub where the locals made us most welcome and chatted to us, as if we were regulars. Definitely a place to return to when we next visit the area!
Great quality and very well presented food. Nice choice of real ales.
What a lovely friendly pub! Called late yesterday in hope of a meal and was cheerfully greeted with ‘we’ll put a table in the bar’ plus lots of happy chatter in the background Chaps enjoying their pint outside held door open for us with cute smiles Lovely meal and what a happy friendly local crowd inside - loved the dog cushions provided to make them also feel at home My sister and I cannot give a more positive review - Hope future visitors enjoy this lovely place as much as we did
