Had Sunday lunch here today and couldn't fault it in any way. My wife had the leg of lamb, my son and I had the beef, we all thoroughly enjoyed it, the food was excellent. My wife had the soup as a starter, which she said was good. My son and I skipped the starter, but we both had dessert which was also very good. The price was very reasonable for both the food and drinks, the setting was very pleasant and everything was clean and tidy. There where only two ladies waiting tables, but they were both very efficient and there was no long wait between courses, how they covered everything and remained so friendly god alone knows. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Been in a good few pubs for food over the years. This one is one of the best. Excellent food...excellent friendly service and very good value. If I'm back in this area again will definitely return! Highly recommended.Service: 5/5
We just had our Christmas lunch here for our group from South Shields Ramblers and also during the World Cup final. The food service and staff were excellent. It's the perfect place for a group booking and we would highly recommend it. Food & drinks: Food excellent and reasonably priced drinks
A good hotel for the cost. Friendly staff, good bar. Didn’t eat dinner in the hotel so can’t comment on the food. Breakfast was ok, we all had local Craster kippers but not all our party liked them.
Friendly service, excellent food and value for money. I had Liver and Bacon but couldn’t quite finish the very generous portion. Veg was also well cooked and pretty sure it wasn’t frozen. I recommend this restaurant even though we only found it because other places were full. It is well worth seeking out. My wife had fishcakes which were huge and definitely homemade with real chips on the side. Will return if back in this area.
Food was excellent. Staff where really friendly and couldn't do enough to help, both for the evening meal and at breakfast. Rooms are a little tired and could do with a lick of paint but they are nice and clean. Value for money. Would highly recommend the mackerel pate!!Rooms: 4/5
We have spent 4 days 3 nights there this Christmas/Boxing day for the last two years and will go again in 2023. It is so relaxing with great food and friendly. Cost is very fair. Rooms: Great value with all basics Nearby activities: Great beaches nearby Food & drinks: They have a great chef but all hotel run by a lovely caring lady hotel owner.
Absolutely beautiful dinner for Easter Sunday, and very reasonable. Highly recommendedRooms: 5/5
Lovely Sunday Roast, we had Beef & Pork excellent so delicious, still as good as we had a few years ago. Great to visit again thank youService: 5/5
It takes a while for the hot water to come through but it's there. Be patient. And the shower was a bit weak but I can forgive that as everything else is just so damn good and at excellent prices for these days where elsewhere accommodation has gone through the roof. Good beer. Good food. Friendly staff and locals. This place is a find.Rooms: 5/5
