Some of the nicest food I have had in my weeks stay in Alnmouth. Steak is excellent quality and good value. Georgie and her team are attentive, polite and professional. I would have no problem is RECOMMENDING this pub, food and service. Thanks very much.
Service was brilliant by Ben. The local Gin Hepple I believe was delicious. Food was out of this world best I've had for a while. I would love the recipe of the sauce they used on the chicken breast. I've could of drank that in a pint glass.
Great little pub. Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly. Unfortunately no food when we were there but we're advised on entering
Great vibe about the place....got served by a jolly, friendly Santa, which was a first Food was great and lovely and warm in front of the fire
We returned to this pub after visiting last year and enjoying a lovely pizza. We arrived for lunch on Friday, the pub was empty. We were not spoken to when we stood at the bar as the two staff were talking. After a while we were asked if we wanted drinks by a very unfriendly non smiling person, seemed like too much bother. We ordered drinks and pizzas. After a short time we were told your pizza is ready, I looked a bit stunned and was told you can go and collect it from the Pizza oven down in the garden. As we were the only people in the pub I would have thought it would have been delivered to the table. No cutlery, no serviettes. No smiles!! Pizza was tasty. Will not return.
Categorically one of my favourite places to enjoy a pint. Especially on a sunny day, enjoying the beer garden. If you're lucky you'll be able to get the far end of the beer garden with sea views but even without that you're still enjoying the sun and the sea air. Inside the pub is very pleasant too and the service has never been less than excellent whenever I've visited. There are some lovely walks in the area, including a very accessible walk from Alnmouth to Warkworth and back around 9 miles there and back on a solid track. Or just enjoy Alnmouth and the beach but definitely head to The Red Lion while you're there, it's a superb pub.
What an excellent place to stop for a pint and something to eat, stopped on the off chance while in the area and didn't regret it . The steak and ale pie could have come straight out of the oven at home it was amazing and definitely homemade and the draft ale was very well kept....don't pass it if you get the chance
A pleasant place to spend a sunny afternoon. We had great if expensive pizzas and a couple of beers. All very enjoyable, thank you.
Walked into a warm pub and a warm welcome. Food was great with good beer. Could have spent the afternoon thereService: 5/5
Lovely new looking, clean and well appointed rooms in the same building as the pub. Breakfast was good too and in a separate room within the pub with plenty of choice. Georgie and her staff were all very nice and the bar is really nice too.Rooms: 5/5
