On my way home from Alnwick, stopped in for a drink. Red wine. My friend had Black pudding balls. They may be a starter. 3 large balls in a sauce. All fine. The fire was lit, so we sat close. The bar area is at the door, and there was a crowd of shootin' pheasant men standing around drinking. Obviously a favourite local.Service: 4/5
Very good B&B. Spacious room with a huge bed that’s the gold room, there is an even bigger one, good en-suite with nice hot shower. Very friendly landlord George goes out of his way to talk to you and make sure you’re happy. Food is tasty and the beer good.
Visited here with the wife on a Sunday afternoon. Good Sunday lunch menu with plenty of options although did not see too many gluten free / vegetarian options not that this bothers me at all but it may some visitors. The food was very good with the majority being all homemade. Staff were all really friendly and helpful, beer was nice and the beer garden was kept neat and tidy. Great little village pub. Will definitely be going back soon.
Our 2nd visit to this stunning little spot. The rooms are spotless and really comfortable, the pub itself has lots of atmosphere and serves up great food but, above all, it’s the team that run the place that really make it. All the thoughtful touches and friendly chat mean we can’t wait to go back again next year.Rooms: 5/5
Quite possibly the friendliest, loveliest people you’ll ever meet. For a small town pub, this place is incredibly welcoming. I look forward to coming back and thanks to Emma for going out if her way to help me.. Service: 5/5
We had a Sunday Lunch in the bar area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and brought colouring pencils over straight away with our menus for kids. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was a highlight!Service: 5/5
Booked for Sunday lunch, was recommended in our holiday cottage. Can understand why. Food delicious and service was great! Food & drinks: Booked for Sunday lunch, great service and delicious food. We all enjoyed it very much, after a starter and main course too stuffed for dessert.
Lovely pub. Accommodates locals and visitors equally. Menu looks reasonable. Hope to have a meal next time we visit. Would love to stay.Service: 5/5
Lovely village pub with superb food but i would book a table rather than just walking in. Very friendly staff. Dogs are welcome.
Great staff, Sunday lynch 3 courses, however the beef was dry, overcook and sparse. I sent mine back only to be replaced by similar, so I ended up eating potatoes only, shame as previous visits have been good. Also the restaurant was not that busy. Won't be going for Sunday lunch again, I cook better at home
