The folk are friendly enough but if its real ale you are after there are far better pubs and bars to visit in Alnwick
Called in for a pint after hiking locally. Really nice place, plenty TV's that had the footy on and had Coors on draught which was a bonus

Friendly pub. Locals and staff very chatty.
Standard centre of town pub, sports on the telly, pool, darts and gaming machines available. Predominantly harmless younger clientele. At least 2 real ales on our visit. Dogs welcome.
Great pub friendly surroundings the pint was top class and the place is dog friendly as well which is a massive bonus as well. 5 stars
In the day time had a great atmosphere and welcoming but night times different atmosphere. Craft Union beers what more do I need to say.
Called in last night at 10.15pm just as the barman called last orders. Told "We"re closing." We said "you just called last orders". Told "but you've not been drinking in here tonight". Thankfully not the North East welcome we are used to and as a regular visitor to Alnwick numerous times a year we certainly wont be returning.
Pub is Covid-safe but young customers definitely aren't. Landlord is spot-on though, so it seems this is post-lockdown drunken 20-somethings just being annoying in the evenings. Get there early at lunchtime to hear yourself think though. Too many TVs - one on every wall. Glad to see management has changed in last couple of years.
Great pub wide range of ales and lager, Sky for sports, reasonable priced beers
