Great local pub like pubs used to be. No piped music - but real musicians. Really interesting and different beer. Just a great place to relax with a couple of friends. Not to be missed.
A gem of Alnwick. If you like great ales, real cider, whiskey and proper pubs like they used to make them, look no further. If you're reading this and deliberating....just do it. Seriously, you won't be disappointed....
Lovely traditional pub - great selection of whisky and beer
What a great pub! A well kept secret off the beaten track, traditional and very friendly. Huge selection of single malt whiskey. Note the little hats on top of the bottles, that's were the locals are up to as they work their way through the A to Z of single malts! Is there a Z? I'm not sure, will someone let me know? Great beers and a very fine selection of Belgium beers. Update: Came back to visit yesterday after 3 years. Nothing has changed, very friendly and I loved the sign on the door - See picture and take note!
A great whisky selection for my other half and nice gin options too. A very friendly welcome and trad pub.
Nice friendly pub with a great folk night on a monday
Amazing pub on a quiet street just off the beaten track in Alnwick. Beautiful little courtyard garden with colourful potted plants and very unusual benches and tables made using bottles. Sat there in the evening we watched entranced at an acrobatic bat. Most importantly the beer is simply the best I have ever tasted. I am a CAMRA member and it was pure poetry in a pint. Bar staff friendly and informative. A must visit in Alnwick.
Lovely little pub with a good selection of beers.
Fantastic to find a old fashioned traditional pub. Proper beer and cider and fabulous choice of whiskeys. Enjoyed every night. Special mention to James. come on Stoke. Ian and Louise from Cleethorpes.
A very honest and simple pub, but that is it's beauty. With decent beers on tap, and Weston's cider, which is always s bonus in my eyes. A fantastic range of quality whiskeys, and a good few decent ginns too. It's a quiet place with a few friendly locals. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, and made use of the bar games in the corner. Not a fancypants bar, a good local pub.
