One of my favourite cinemas in London. Friendly staff, easy booking, good seats with drink tables in the rear half of the cinema. Avoid the seats next to toilets on the right if you can (Rows D-F seats 1-2). Proper bar serving decent drinks and salted popcorn, none of that sweet stuff :) single screen in room with plenty of character. They usually have more interesting films than your multiplex with Hollywood nonsense.

went here on a last minute whim but was the best night and great movie. chairs were comfy and screen was good quality.

The Gate cinema is a bit rough around the edges, which is especially noticeable given its in Notting Hill. The staff lacked personality and were a bit grumpy, but outside of that we had a good time here. Seats were comfortable and the screen and sound was great.

A cozy vintage cinema, great movies and just simple setting. Sound system was very good compared to how old the cinema is. Tickets prices were fair, although the chairs felt bit rough after a while. The bar serves beers and wines, and the popcorn is not so bad. The bathroom was a disgrace, make sure u bring Ur own tissues. And the screen size wasn't that impresselive. All in all, it's easy, cozy, and would definitely be a regular.
