Update: it has been a month since my official complaint on Odeon’s website and here. Despite the below acknowledging my complaint and giving the impression they are actioning remedies, nothing has been done. My partner who I went to see the film with also had negative review deleted multiple times. This company clearly does not care about its customers and want to give a false impression of taking responsibilitynnBought 2 tickets to see the Avatar Fire & Ash in 3D IMAX, along with 3D glasses.nnAbout 15minutes into the film, it suddenly malfunctioned with no picture or red/green picture see photos for about 10 minutes. The 3D film then played as 2D for the remainder of the 3.5hours film. No staff came out to explain, apologise at the time and all the staff disappeared when the film was finished.nnThis is a complete shambles of customer experience and I have made a complaint and asked for a refund. Obviously anyone would know people pay the much higher price for the 3D IMAX tickets and glasses to see Avatar expecting to get what they paid for, but the experience was a complete disaster.nnPosting this complaint here to help ensure the corporates take action on my official complaint on their website - in the meantime a warning for all to avoid this place and just watch films on streaming in the comfort of your home
WHERE SHOULD I EVEN BEGIN.nHORRIBLE DILAPIDATING CINEMA.nPAID FOR EXPENSIVE RECLINERS WHICH WERE OLD, TORN AND FADED!nTHE QUALITY OF THE 3D PICTURE WAS SO POOR AS IF THE MANAGER HAD BROUGHT IN HIS KID TO ADJUST THE PICTURE INSTEAD OF SOMEONE PROFESSIONAL.n£73 FOR A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.nNEVER GOING TO ANY ODEON EVER AGAIN. I THINK THE ODEON CINEMA MAINTAINS PLACES ACCORDING TO THE CLASS THAT COMES TO WATCH MOVIES.
For IMAX, the screen is nice and big, really immersive but I struggled with hearing quite a bit of the dialogue. Almost like the sound mixing coming through the speakers had far too much bass. And for £24, I think it’s not really good enough compared to other IMAX experiences out there. Also they’ve got these weird swivel tables attached to the seats that if you don’t move are in your eye line the whole time. The seats were comfy though. I would go back to give it another shot but would look to go elsewhere first, especially for a new release. It’s good this place was re-screening Sinners as I missed it earlier in the year.
Really nice cinema but the service on the front is weird. We were told to purchase our snacks at a self service machine that didn’t even list the products we were buying. You couldn’t even scan items, you had to manually find them. And the customer service person told us we had to use this and couldn’t use a human being. Otherwise the cinema is nice and clean. With nice screens.
I went to watch ‘One Battle After Another’ their earliest afternoon showing.nnThe staff are very friendly and accommodating.nnIf going to see your film at the IMAX screen, ensure to get highest seats to see the screen properly and not be blocked by the tier flooring.nnAlso, make sure to give yourself ample space between other cinema goers. I don’t get weird people who feel so lonely and have to book a seat next to you, when the whole cinema theatre is empty at that time.nnThe staff member, kindly reassigned my seat and blocked others to be next to me.
