Screen 9 is definitely not for claustrophobic people! Small waiting area, seats are a bit old and uncomfortable, popcorns not hot and fresh . Pros : easy access from Lisceter square tube station and short walking distance from the exit, lively area so if you are early you can enjoy many things on the area.
The cinema in generalnis ok. There are good options to have a snack sweet or savoury. You can buy your ticket online or in the self service machines at the entrance. The seats are comfortable and you can recline them a bit. The space between the rows is ok. The problem is inside the theatre where there is only one side passage to come in and out, and if you bought tickets near the right wall, you have to walk all along the aisle interrupting everyone until you reach the other side . The cleanliness leaves much to be desired, papers and rubbish in the cinema and the toilets; it could look better if it was cleaned more regularly, bins are very small and can't take anymore. The cinema is in a very good location, some minutes from the tube.
Went to the film premiere of the new movie The last Heist . The Vue staff were all very pleasant and helpful. As you enter to your right there's a bar where you can get all your cinema snacks, popcorn, hot dogs, pick n mix, water, wine proscecco, beer, it's quite expensive. But the cinema itself is very clean, they have bucket seats with adequate leg space that recline and are very comfortable. There's a whole in the arm so you have a place to put your drink. The screen as you would expect is massive and the sound quality is excellent. It's definitely a good place to see a movie bare in mind we are in Leicester Square, which means the food and drink is a bit pricey
This theatre always had good films showing. The popcorns good and the staff are lovely. the screens are great and cinema 1 has a great sound! The ‘reclining’ chairs are uncomfortable. I would prefer normal cinema seats. They are so frustrating as they won’t stay ‘reclined’ and keep flicking back up. The toilets are horrendously dirty and there’s no way they are cleaned regularly. Sanitary bins overflowing, no toilet roll and just gross.
Great choice if you're in central London. The seats that recline are very comfy and the front row isn't too close to the screen so you can watch the movie with relative comfort. They have a good selection of snacks and food and the prices are reasonable considering the location. The facilities were very clean and tidy.
Attended the Screening of Director, Writer, Producer Baz Luhrmann's ELVIS. Great movie. Well acted and so much fun. Highly recommended
I had a ticket from my Vodafone app. so I made a night in the west end .I was very happy with the whole experience at the cinema. It's been a very long time since I was last there but overall it was enjoyable. So if you need a different experience from your local cinema I highly recommend the Vue Leicester Sq.
It was my first time here and I was a bit disappointed. Long ques, separate ones for ice cream/hot food, for popcorn/sweets and for entry to the screen. Took 20 minutes to buy popcorn and be scanned in we would have bought hot food and ice cream but could not face the que. At one point only one person carefully checking entry tickets, on a Friday evening and a cinema that seats 1500! We were on screen 7, two floors up and escalators were broken on one of them meaning you had to walk up a stopped escalator on the way in and down a stopped escalator on the way out. Film was good, sound excellent, seats ok not full recliner like the Vue we usually use.
The escalators are working so that's a plus. I went there today and I could've just not bothered buying a ticket I did though as there was no one checking the tickets before you go to the screen. I went into screen 7 and it was pitch black, no lights, and the screen not on, I then went downstairs and told them and give them their due they did get in touch with someone and when I went back to the screen the lights were on, meaning I didn't break a leg trying to find my seat. They desperately need more staff though, as the ones I saw were just standing around chatting whilst stock was all on the floor. One staff member who I assume was a supervisor as he was in his own clothes was just sitting on the counter, not the best impression, I will go again as it's convenient and I like the chain but come on Vue get more staff that care about their job and customers. Update. I went there today 19/11 to see Smile, in Screen 8. If you have problems with your mobility or have young children, I suggest you don't visit this cinema. Screen 8 is right at the top and the only escalator that was working was the one going up to screens 7 and 8, though I had to walk up two escalators to get to the working one but when the film had finished the escalator was not working at all, meaning I had to walk down them all the way to the foyer and as the steps are quite high, it was not easy to walk down them. I also don't think the lifts were working, is this even legal? I got there at 4:30pm and the foyer was an absolute mess with people everywhere and no queuing system in place, glad I didn't buy any drinks as the queue for the food and drinks was huge. I go there because it's easy to get to but I'll try Picadilly next time, at least I won't have to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest if the escalators are not working.
Overall the cinema is good. Though the staff there seemed completely lost during our movie. Lights were not turned off for the first 10 minutes of the actual movie after the ads and then they remained off after the movie was over.
