The reception by the manager was very cold! The response to every question was minimalist even though we were alone at reception. He was nicer when I left. Fortunately, the rest of the staff and especially the girl were very nice. The room was nice but it was in the basement, which made me feel like I was sleeping in the cellar. What's more, I could hear the metro passing underneath every 2 minutes. All in all, I had a very mixed stay.
Lovely hotel, perfectly located for Covent Garden and the Theatre District. Clean, comfortable and the Hotel employees were all so polite and helpful, couldn't fault anything. Thank you for a lovely stay. Rooms: Spacious for centralLondon, clean, comfortable. Perfect for our little break. Nearby activities: Theatre, Covent Garden Walkability: Close to many central London attractions
The room was very dusty. I asked for it to be cleaned on the second day, and to be fair it was a bit better after that. But, I think the curtains need to be properly cleaned. Also, the furniture in the room looks a bit dated and the chair had been worn through. Not a great feel. Also, no lift and quite narrow stairs. I had to carry my heavy bag myself - no one asked if I needed help. The location is great.
Chosen mainly for location to ROH but was delighted by Covent Garden area. Hotel was welcoming, clean, recently updated. Single room no. 1 was groundfloor with street outlook but quiet. Bathroom facilities dated but scrupulously clean. Bed comfortable.Rooms: 4/5
This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my entire life. We visited with two kids and they put us in a room in a basement with no warning that smell musty - full of mould - and wasn’t very clean either. Thankfully we stayed only for a night but It was an absolute nightmare. And we paid 320 pounds for one night. Never ever go to this hotel. If there was an option for zero stars this is the hotel that would get it.
The location of this hotel is very convenient and that is the best part of it. We interacted with two staff members and had very different experiences with both - one of which tarnished our experience and was such that I would not recommend the establishment again. The male front desk manager was extremely condescending and rude. One morning, we apparently set off the fire alarm while using the blow dryer which shows that their system is extremely outdated but it was not going off in our room - only down the hall, so how were we to know it was our fault? We had the fan on in the bathroom and a window open. The front desk man came up to “inform” us and was extremely rude. When we checked out, we asked to leave our bags and we had an equally unpleasant and uncomfortable experience with him. The female front desk attendant was lovely. The rooms were fine and while I’m not surprised there is no lift, it would have been nice if someone had offered to bring them up to our room for us. With all the options in London, I’d go somewhere else with more hospitable staff.
The location is terrific, everything is walkable and nearby. However, the hotel is a bit misleading. It’s more so a bed and breakfast no breakfast rather than being an actual hotel.Rooms: 2/5
Have stayed here twice in the last year. Pleasant staff, clean and comfortable rooms and couldn't be handier for Covent Garden, theatre land, good restaurants etc. For us, though, the number one feature is how quiet it is! No traffic roaring past at all hours, no emergency vehicle sirens blaring, just a peaceful night's sleep - almost unheard of in central London in our experience! Rooms: We had a great room. A good size with a beautiful bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Ours was at basement level but still with some daylight. We weren't disturbed by noise at all. Nearby activities: A short stroll to Drury Lane, Bow Street, Covent Garden, theatres and lots of great restaurants. Walkability: Easily walkable from the nearest Underground station Covent Garden.
The location of the hotel is the best one you could wish, the rooms are very small as in the pictures but if you won't spend your days in the room it is not a big deal. As a solo woman I felt safe and convenient, the central location of the hotel was important at this point. The room was clean, sheets were clean, the bathroom was clean. Nothing I can complain. As a general issue of London, there isn't a lift in this old building too. I can recommend this hotel to solo travelers and couples. With children and too many baggages it would be better to stay in a larger room in case to spend a rainy day inside. The stuff was friendly, check-in check-out was easy and 24/7 a person is available on the reception. Thank you.
I don't just click 5-stars across the board on reviews but this place deserves it. Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and quiet and the location, in my opinion, can not be beat. The hotel is located in the theatre district of London. Restaurants, shops, cafes and shopping are at your fingertips. We were able to walk to Leicester square, Westminster Abbey, and the Churchill War Rooms from here. Other attractions probably require the metro which a station is in very close proximity. Be sure to check out the Piazza that is within a block or two. If we have the opportunity to go back to London I would absolutely reserve a room here again.
