Fabulous events space and historic mason building in a fabulous location right near covent garden. Attentive staff and impressive architecture. Interesting artwork and plenty of space to mingle and dine/present from. Would recommend for events and awards afternoons
Not sure where people are coming up with 5 star reviews? Mediocre food, nowhere to get tap water, shouldn't the servers/wait staff be there during the whole event to cater for food/drinks? And not disappear when they have finish the courses? Additionally, turn on the bloody AC man, its boiling in there with that many people crowded into the room.
I witnessed countless love stories unfold at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms and is an absolute pleasure to shoot events over there. From the moment you step foot into the grand lobby, you're greeted with an air of elegance and sophistication. The ballroom is a sight to behold, with its sparkling chandeliers and ornate architecture providing the perfect backdrop for a glamorous wedding. If you're exchanging, this venue promises an experience that is nothing short of extraordinary.
Came here for an all day conference this venue is a hidden gem Was is the main hall with the chandilers which added a historic touch. Toilets on the ground floor were clean and the food for the lunch was good with various stations for tea, coffee, water, biscuits and fruit. There are smaller rooms on the other floors for that can accommodate team building/away day. Highly recommend and close to transport links to access central London.
Great venue for our annual work conference but extremely poor support for disabled folk to get about on their own
An utterly dreadful experience. We booked the Grand Connaught Rooms for a family wedding in summer, reassured time and again that the AC would be in perfect working order. Yet on the day, the AC failed completely in the Great Hall, leaving guests unbearably hot and uncomfortable. It was an absolute nightmare, with some guests leaving even before dinner was served. The kitchen was a disaster – the fridge and freezer were broken, causing desserts to go off, and the kitchen lift stalled repeatedly, much to the annoyance of the catering team. Even the cutlery, which is provided by the venue, was filthy. Adding insult to injury, the staff were rude and unhelpful, with the floor manager conspicuously absent for most of the evening. Our celebrations were completely ruined. I would strongly advise against this venue for any event. If you’re considering it, insist on a binding contract to cover all essentials.
We recently attended a wedding at the De Vere Grand Connaught in London, and it was a wonderful experience. The venue is stunning, with an elegant and sophisticated ambiance that added a touch of grandeur to the special occasion. The staff were attentive and professional, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The event spaces were beautifully decorated, and the attention to detail was evident in every aspect. The food served during the wedding was delicious and beautifully presented, impressing all the guests. The sound and lighting were also excellent, creating the perfect atmosphere for both the ceremony and the reception. One downside, however, is the lack of on-site parking. Guests need to find parking on the road and walk to the venue, which can be a bit inconvenient, especially if you're carrying luggage or if the weather isn't favorable. Planning ahead and arriving early to secure a spot can help alleviate this issue. Despite the parking situation, the overall experience at the De Vere Grand Connaught was exceptional. It’s a fantastic venue for a wedding, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to host a memorable event in London.
I attended on Ssturdsy 05.10.24. Connaught Rooms is a superb venue serving very good food, which was not always the case, with friendly approachable staff. A thoroughly enjoyable experience except that upon arrival the bar was not open. Eventually a member of staff was found and who went behind the bar and did his best. Although our party was only 20, the delay in service meant that we had to put the start time for our meal back by over 20 minutes which pleased nobody, staff or customers.
What a amazing venue. The food was great and the service was great. The staff are friendly and efficient. The room was amazing and it's a great venue.
Grand old world hotel but tired and poorly maintained decor. Needs a empathetic revamp to bring out its best. Staff friendly and helpful, building g is a confusing Laberynth with lifts that don't work. Food was not as good as some other Devere locations bit this is an amazing location. Good but could be great. Needs some care and attention to the decor
