Always a great place to have some nibbles and amazing cocktails. We always go before any theatre or opera we have in the west End. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the decor always stunning with fresh flowers and following a season theme, and everything is sparkling clean, especially the loos. Highly recommended this place to have cocktails and spend some time in their lounge.
Just returned from a long vacation to London and Paris. Spent a fabulous 4-nights at One Aldwych, which was a highlight of the trip. From the moment we walked in, the wonderful staff made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to make everything feel special. This hotel is in a perfect location, central to all the major tourist sights with easy access to the Underground. The front desk was very helpful anytime we had a question and we appreciated that they were able to help with airport taxi arrangements. My husband has celiac and we picked this hotel mainly because of it's reputation for handling food allergens. Having the 100% gluten and dairy-free Indigo restaurant on-site was a huge bonus for us. Room service was excellent and took great care in double checking allergens and ensuring that cross contamination risk was minimized. The hotel has a lovely spa and well-equipped fitness room. Usually hotel fitness areas are pretty sparse but this one actually has a free weight rack and full cable machines! So nice not to have to go elsewhere to get a decent workout. I was more than impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The complimentary mini bar was a nice little treat. Appreciated that housekeeping did their best to ensure that it was stocked with gluten and dairy-free items. Already dreaming about going back!
This is my second time staying here. I made a reservation for the wrong date and Javier Esparza immediately jumped in and was incredibly kind during a very busy week in London. He got me a room without complaint in fact was apologetic!, honored my original rate and even checked me in early and walked me to my room. Hospitality is top notch. Alex and Julia in sales have been hyper responsive. Incredible leadership at this hotel. Well done.
I have been coming to this hotel for 20 years. The quality of the service, rooms, facilities, and food is world class. You can not beat its location. A boutique hotel with ever service you can want. It is amazing that One A is as good today maybe even better than when it first opened. We would not stay anywhere else in London. Tip. Book the studio bridge suite with views over Waterloo bridge and definitely have cocktails in the bar in front of the amazing flower arrangements.
We recently stayed here for three nights. In particular, I’d like to highlight the exceptional customer service we received. They really do strive to ensure hotel guests have the best possible experience, and I can say that rang true for us. The location is hard to beat as properties of this caliber tend to be further on the edge of the city. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and perhaps would not even consider other properties within the city I really appreciated the independent nature of the hotel, which offers an alternate perspective from many of the larger, corporate properties.
This hotel is really expensive and not the 5 star luxury it is marketed as. Stayed at One Aldwych for my wife’s 40th. We had a ‘superior king’ room which was quite small with just about enough space for the bed and a small corner sofa. The service during our stay was pleasant enough but certainly not personal and I was charged an additional 5% of the room rate on arrival. When I queried the charge I was told it was a “discretionary charge for service”. I asked for it to be removed as we had just arrived, which they did, but the charge was then added back on when I checked out. Apparently lots of London hotels are doing this now…. I paid the charge but left feeling this was a bit opportunistic. The service we received was fine but some aspects of detail were missed that you would not expect from a luxury hotel. Our room wasn’t turned down whilst we were out at the theatre, the OJ I ordered at breakfast was forgotten, and there was no response to my request for a pre-theatre restaurant reservation. Our bathroom had no bath either which was disappointing given the price. Overall we had a pleasant stay, the room was clean and very quiet and bathroom had an excellent shower. The hotel is perfectly located in the theatre within walkable distance of the show and restaurant we had booked. Rooms: Quite small for the price. No bath and the blind had to be operated manually which took ages.
Had afternoon tea which was absolutely first class. Amazing food with the best gluten free version ever experienced. Adam the host was incredibly welcoming and waiter Pio was very attentive. Perfect all round!Rooms: 5/5
Sixth time we have stayed. It is an outstanding hotel in an excellent location. From the moment we arrived to leaving, all the staff were exceptional and it is clear this filters-down from the top. Thank youRooms: 5/5
After a long trip from overseas, I arrived at One Aldwych, and while there was an initial issue with my room, Mahmodul swiftly and professionally rectified the situation. His exceptional service and warm hospitality were truly a credit to One Aldwych. Throughout my entire stay, the staff were absolutely first class, always going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The level of care and attention to detail at this hotel is unparalleled, making my stay exemplary in every way. I highly recommend One Aldwych for anyone seeking a luxurious and seamless experience. We also loved the Charlie & The Chocolate Factory afternoon tea!
