Amazing gem, really can't find enough fantastic words to say about the place, the people and my experience! The entrance is actually next to the building and up some stairs, the grocery store under was very helpful in directing me. Super welcoming bar/restaurant atmosphere, with smiling, friendly staff to take care of you. Plenty of food and drink options, including half and half salty/sweet popcorn. The music while waiting was a fabulous selection as well. The theater itself is small and comfortable, great sound and picture quality. But even better than all that was their advertising of local businesses and the fact that they provide a day for people with dementia to enjoy as well. Truly touched my heart.
All round perfect cinema experience. The bar, drinks and food are all spot on. Even the popcorn just tasted better. Staff are really nice and the whole thing is very chill. I’d also happily go here just for a cocktail or coffee and it would hold up against most.
Absolutely amazing cinema! Stunning place, lovely staff. Great for coworking. I cannot recommend enough!
I've been coming here for years and can't believe I've never written a review.nThe Castle Cinema is such a refreshingly cosy gem. Its decor is on point, Toasties are great, and it has great prices for drinks and cinema tickets. It's also a great place to find out about non mainstream films coming out, as well as a quiet and relaxing place to enjoy bigger movies outside of big cinema chains. The membership is definitely worth it as well. £6 Mondays are divine.
Really cosy venue with a great story behind it. Love the lack of ads so so much, and the Monday discount is great value. The armchairs in screen 1 are very comfy, and the picture quality is good. The only thing I'd mention is I felt the sound quality wasn't up to par. The system has that great bass boom that major cinemas have, but it was really quite tinny around the mids/highs, which was especially noticeable during the songs of Better Man a musical. Other than that, a very charming cinema that I'll definitely be visiting again.
