I attended a screening and Q&A session here on Saturday 10th May, hosted by Kush Films. This is the first time I've been into a Genesis Cinema and I loved the decor, layout and how welcoming the atmosphere was. Nice and spacious open plan layout and vibrant atmosphere. I like that there is a nice bar upstairs which serves an array of drinks and there also appears to be a nice food menu. I enjoyed my experience here and hope to come back again to see another film.

This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I’ve ever had at any venue. The manager a bald man with glasses was shockingly rude and completely unprofessional.nOur group attended an awards event hosted at this cinema, and it was ruined by his behaviour. He was shouting at guests, calling them “stupid” for waiting in line to take photos at the event’s photo board. At one point, he even threatened to cancel the entire event because people weren’t moving quickly enough into the screening, saying things like “I don’t care about the money — I’ll cancel this event, and you won’t have your award ceremony.”nIt didn’t stop there — he was rude to one of the nominees and told him that if he set “one foot” into the screening, the event would be cancelled for everyone. That nominee had to leave just to prevent the event from being shut down. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.nThe venue itself was also terrible. It smelled unpleasant, it’s clearly very old, and there were large flies flying around in the screening rooms. The staff showed no respect and had zero sense of customer service.nIndependent cinemas are already struggling, and behaviour like this only drives people away. If you’re looking for a nice night out — avoid this place at all costs. This was my first and definitely my last visit.
I went to this cinema to watch Sinners. They said they don't allow food or anything inside, but I guess snacks or anything bought at their premises are allowed. The entrance into the studio has unpleasant smell. They need to do some cleaning for a pleasant atmosphere. Toilet was clean.
Used to frequent this local and charming cinema in Mile End. This cinema has 5 screens and they release all the latest movies.nUsed to love getting the BBQ Nachos which were delightfully unique. Shame they have a strict security and no outside food or drink allowed, but as they are an independent cinema it is understandable.nExtremely affordable prices, especially if you are a student.nWould love to visit again in the future!
