The downstairs staff very friendly and the security guy helpful. Upstairs slow service and too much of a queue to grab a drink. Inside the screening room is massive and comfortable. The location not the best.. went for a premiere
Genesis Cinema offers a unique movie-going experience. The highlight for me was the sofa chairs, it was an unexpected touch that sets it apart from the big name cinemas across London. These comfy seats made the experience feel much more relaxed and intimate, which I really appreciated.nnHowever, the screening room itself felt a bit dated, and it could use some modernization. That said, the overall atmosphere was cozy, and it didn’t detract too much from enjoying the film.
First experience with independent cinema. Really nice. The studios are so comfortable and enjoyable to watch the movie here
Tried to order hotdogs from both downstairs and the upstairs kitchen, none of them were serving. Asked for fries but told it would be a 20 minute wait and they would be cooked in an airfryer. Also used the bathroom and the first 4 taps I tried to wash my hands with were not working.nLights were flickering on and off very fast while ads were running which gave me a headache. The screen in studio 4 is also very small, whole experience felt like a waste of money and I would not return.
Not sure why this is on lots of online lists as one of the best cinemas in London, other than the decent ticket prices compared to most of London. As soon as we entered and showed our tickets, the security man saw a sandwich in my partner's coat pocket and a little bag of sweets in my hand and told us we weren't allowed them in and had to eat them there and then. It's a bit humiliating. I've never experienced this at a cinema before. I worked in a big cinema chain for five years and was never once instructed to stop customers and make them eat food in front of me. Ironically, I then asked for fries inside at the food stand and was told there were none and I'd have to wait twenty minutes... So you can't bring in food from outside and you can't buy food inside either unless you want to miss part of your film or spend a tenner on popcorn...nThe auditorium in screen 1 is really big which is cool, but the actual screen itself isn't very big.nThe staff I encountered were all either a bit rude or seemed totally miserable.nI've never left a review like this before and I never complain. I love going to the cinema but I won't be back to Genesis.
