Hackney Picturehouse

I went to the review of 'Love, Simon'. A great film. As soon as you step in, there's the bar and seated area. The drinks and snacks are a cut above your usual pub snacks and priced accordingly. The room the film was screened in was quite hot, but once the film starts, the fans were activated.

I wasn’t too sure about this place after it opened. I visited the Stratford Picture house years ago and didn’t like the experience at all. I only visited this as it’s located right in the heart of Hackney. The building was big, food was nice and the screens were bigger than I expected it to be. It was a great experience, but the only problem with this place is the parking outside. They don’t have a car park, and it’s hard to get a parking spot close to it (and you have to pay).

Love this cinema, the bites to eat are better than in most pubs and the booze selection is impressive. Really kid friendly for those who need it (Wednesday baby screen), Saturday cartoons etc. Reasonably priced and very comfy seats. If you go regularly to the cinema well worth getting membership for discounts. Please can Picturehouse pay a living wage! We love our cinema staff!

Excellent selection of new and old films with an interesting array of screens (including a small lounge screen). Food and drink is also good. Staff are helpful film enthusiasts.

Just one of my faves. I'm a member and use regularly. It loses a star for the issues around staff not being paid as they should be and as of writing I believe this still an issue but hopefully it will be resolved. Have visited other branches as well as my local Hackney branch and all good except the central one where some staff needed training in good manners and professionalism but hoping to receive an improved experience next visit.
