Great screen- comfortable seating (no drink holders built into arm rest which could be useful). Good sound quality and always interesting selection of screenings. It's a bit uncomfortable to go through the bag search every time i visit.

Located in the lowest level of the Barbican Centre, cinema 1 is the largest of the Barbican's cinemas. It shows a selection of new releases as well as showing a variety of old films. My favourite series are the silent films on Sunday afternoons, mostly British, American and European, with live music by great musicians such as Neil Brand. Personal dislike is that the standard has slipped lately as popcorn and crisps are now allowed during performances.

Great little cinema, just a shame the refreshments and snacks counter is operated by Benugo. Selling overpriced tiny portions, no fresh popcorn.

Can't not love getting cinema tickets for £5! Have enjoyed every visit, staff are lovely and the cinema is great.
