The doctors at St George’s A&E are exceptional. Smart, knowledgeable and caring. Emergency care is messy and lengthy but I am so impressed by the doctors here.
I went to the Urgent Treatment Centre this morning with a cat bite, was seen very quickly, dealt with very professionally by all and was out within 90 minutes having had a consultation, x-ray and received some pharmaceuticals from the hospital pharmacy. Just great service.
The worst hospital I have ever been to .nRacism is everywhere in this hospital.nnThe reception staff lack emotional intelligence which is the only thing the NHS teaching them to do but even that they can not do or even pretend.nnPeople are in pain and crying but the reception staff are laughing very loudly .nnI am not even speaking about the crazy waiting time .nnI wish the NHS can concentrate on the time people spend in A&E I don’t want to wait for 5 hours then I meet a smiling doctor saying how are you doing today . Invest the fake care time to reduce my waiting time .
Pathetic, After wasting 5 hours also , A&E didn’t Check well and sent back ,nAbsolutely mismanagement of overstaffed girls and leading to inconvenience to patients . I am loosing all respect for medical profession here.nnHopeless situation with over staffing and huge NI monthly contribution ; mismanaged staff .
It's never fun visiting an A&E department, but there are small things that can help make the experience a little more bearable.nObviously a short wait time is one, and certainly St. Georges seemed to move through a packed waiting room more quickly than any other hospital A&E department I've visited, and I was seen in under 3 hours. I had been forwarded on here from a neighbouring hospital, where the A&E department had seen better days and had an estimated wait time of 9.5 hours.nI was so relieved to arrive at St. George's.nPadded seats in the waiting area, clean toilets, vending machines that actually worked, and a noticeboard showing the wait times. The staff were so friendly and efficient - I was even offered a hot drink! When you're feeling ill and probably bewildered - most people don't expect to end up in A&E when they start their day - these things make a big difference.nnA special thank you to my doctor, Alex, who was so patient, considerate, and thorough. I was being examined and tested to see if I had a very serious condition which was very frightening. Thankfully I was given the all clear, but Alex was very supportive and reassuring throughout, and did everything he could to try and minimise the time I spent waiting and worrying.nnThe only constructive feedback I would give is that, despite the padded seats unusual in A&E departments these days! it's still not great to be returned to the waiting room in between tests. If you have a condition which is causing a lot of pain, it is really uncomfortable.nnOtherwise top job, thanks so much!nnUpdate: I've altered my review because no follow up has been sent to my GP . My GP surgery said it's the most bizarre A&E report they've ever seen with simply no information on it at all and despite repeated requests the MRI has not been sent over to them. The doctor who attended me was very thorough but went off shift and passed over my case to a colleague to discharge me. It's a shame that this staff member seems to have let the whole system down.
