Pros:n- close to the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museumn- a nice area where I felt safen- very quietn- no carpetnnCons:n- room was not very clean. Was very dustyn- the room looked nothing like what was advertised and didn’t have either city or street view like advertised just looking at other people’s rooms. The room was in disrepair/looked like renovations had been DIYed badlyn- could feel the springs in the mattress and it saggedn- water pressure in the shower was terribly low and it kept going scalding for a few secondsn- don’t provide washing powder for washing machinen- not much food aroundn- tiny kitchen and bathroomn- new toilet paper only every second day and no new towels for a week which would be fine except that the towel rail being too small for two towels lead to the towels stinking quicklyn- no microwave, toaster or tumble dryer as advertised
We checked in on Saturday afternoon to a 2 bed apartment and it was freezing. We called reception and asked how to turn heating on. We were told there would be no heating until the following week and there was no one we could speak to about the problem until Monday. We couldn’t stay in the apartment as it was so cold. We left less than 2 hrs after arriving and are still chasing a refund of our money given the accommodation wasn’t fit for purpose. We had to source alternate accommodation and due to late notice was very costly. I was extremely disappointed at the lack of care and service by this establishment. It is completely unacceptable to take customers money and not take responsibility for what is provided, very poor, and very upsetting experience for what was meant to be a special birthday weekend. Would definitely not recommend Chelsea Cloisters!
As a matter of fact we have had many issues with the hotel from the poor housekeeping services that left the room filthy and not restocked with the necessary accommodations needed such as shampoo, conditioner and even toilet paper. Even the staff had a rude attitude, and the security was rude, for example the security started getting angry at my daughter because she had asked the front desk for some directional help, and not to mention the noise everyday that woke us up at 7 in the morning from the construction outside of our window, and the elevators not working constantly and taking a long time to call an elevator and even when we call an elevator we need to travel separately because when we have more then 2 people in it, it says that it is “overweight”, and even disgusting things being found within the actual flat such as mold in the showers and rats roaming the building. these are things that your customers are supposed to be informed about before their stay or upon arrival.
We booked a room from booking.comnfirst of all you should know that this is not a hotel. in google it says hotel but its not. the rooms are owned privately and rented to people. so in the reception there is nobody who can help you without keys. you must contact your owner to get the keys to be able to enter the room.nI wasn't informed about this matter by the owner in booking so this made us very nervous at the time of the arrival. also the people at the reception was talking very suspiciously and making you feel like you are scammed... but the owner replied us promptly so it was ok.nsecondly, our room was actually super small for 2 people. When you enter you will not see a bed, that is actually folded backwards, towards the wall. so we thought there is no bed at the first time when we entered the room. the building is actually very old and clostrofobic. it feels like old soviet apartments. it has a very strange layout that is like an endless corridor very narrow and strange. in the room all the equipment is old/ not give you a nice feeling of use. i believe most of the units are not renovated so we felt very dirty all the time, it wasn't comfortable even going to the toilet and having a shower..nat the end, we were looking forward to leaving the place asap and very much disappointed.nin addition to these points, i must say that the location was great, accessible, and close to most tourist places. i dont recommend those who wants to have a comfortable vacation. location is not enough and im actually not a picky person. i had times that i spent the whole night in the train stations in order to save money while traveling when i was younger. so i am very objective..
Please please be aware that this place looks NOTHING like its pictures. My room was not clean, had wallpaper coming off the wall, and mould in the corners. I can't believe more people haven't pointed this out. I even asked to move rooms and both had the exact same problems. Very dingy and would not recommend staying here. If you paid a bit extra you could definitely stay in a nicer / cleaner place.
