The room was nice and the hotel in a great location. We upgraded from a standard room and it is well worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size but it could do with a deep clean from housekeeping. The jets in the bath were grubby and the wooden floor dusty. Overall this was a good room, we slept like logs, check in and out was easy. We would stay here again. Safety: The area feels very safe. Walkability: Easy walking distance to amenities and public transport.
**** **Charming Stay at New Linden Hotel!** We had an absolutely delightful stay at the New Linden Hotel in London. Nestled in a cute neighborhood with great proximity to Hyde Park, it was the perfect location for our family vacation. The easy access to all the best tourist sites made our trip incredibly convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Our family room was comfortable and well-appointed, and we especially loved the view from our window—it felt like a scene straight out of Mary Poppins! If you're looking for a cozy, welcoming place to stay in London with a bit of whimsy and a lot of charm, we highly recommend the New Linden Hotel. We can't wait to come back!
Hello, I am contacting you because we have a problem with a reservation we made through “booking”. On September 1st we made a reservation for the date of September 25th to September 29th. Today, September 20th, they contacted us informing us that they are cancelling our reservation and that we should look for an alternative 4 days before our trip and with prices almost 3 times the value of when we made the reservation and not at all with the same conditions as those with which we had reserved the hotel, not even close. For compensation they tell us that they offer to pay up to a difference of £25 of the same price of the reservation we made with you. We see all this as a big problem, you are not giving us an acceptable compensation and otherwise absurd, so we are contacting you so that you can please give us a solution to this problem. We ask for a little consideration and judgment to recognize your error and to be compensated in an acceptable way. Since the reason for cancellation is the closure of the hotel and that is not true at all we do not want to cancel our vacation so we ask you to give us a reservation in conditions and with the same price and reward us in a better way
This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy, covered in mold, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The rooms were in the same unkempt, disgusting state. To make matters worse, the cleaning lady was incredibly rude, and despite complaining for three days straight, nothing was done about it. The bedsheets were dirty, the pillows reeked, and the entire place felt like a health hazard. This was a total nightmare, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Unbelievable! Rooms: rooms are absolutely bad Noteworthy details: over all worst experience 1/2 star
Unfortunately my partner and I were extremely disappointed by our stay. The reception staff were rude when we arrived and were preoccupied by something on their phone. The room was very small and the walls far too thin, we could hear the alarm of the person in the next room in the morning. When we wanted to check out, nobody was at the reception desk for me to speak to about our experience the night before. It is a shame as the hotel has brilliant potential but clearly has poor management and staff.
Since this is quite long a short version for those with less time: - I booked a room twin or double single bed room they gave me a single small bed my feet came of the end I’m only 188cm/6’2 - They promised a double bed room and tried charging me +£200 for it then 20 as a deal in good faith then free not sure how that works - They blamed everyone even me for not having my booking in English I might be trying to scam them is what he said - The rooms have no airconditioning but cheap fans, the floors make lots of sounds wooden floor, the key has a big metal stick attached to it it’s a old key not a card which isn’t that bad if it wasn’t for the metal rod - they make false promises and try making u pay afterwards when u believed the promises I stayed here for 2 nights ordering and paying on a third party site, now where do I start with the problems that happened to me. First I took a flight and a long train ride total being longer than 3h to arrive there in the afternoon where I was told the room I booked was not what I booked. I paid around £220 for a double bed or 2 single beds room, what they gave me was a single small bed room. After trying to explain My native language isn’t English the lady behind the counter showed me the order that was allegedly mine. It said “Single bed room” and “price: £183”. I showed her my booking and she promised a double room for the next night. I thought okey one night won’t be too bad. Then the bed was very small to the point my feet I’m 188cm/6’2 we’re not on the matras anymore. It was uncomfortably hot and the airconditioning non existent, instead a fan machine that was shaking like it was from a horror movie. After a going out having diner and all that a tourist does I get home late with a low battery, I did not yet buy the thing you put your cable in but there was an usb port. I did not work both of them. The kind night receptionist lend me a charger which I am still very grateful for and is the only positive about this. Next morning I barely slept and when I finally was sleeping for a few hours I get woken up since the lady from last evening had made it so my room was not booked under my name anymore and got asked to leave the room. After leaving and cleaning up the person behind the counter told me I needed to speak with a manager I assume but he said it was his business so I am not sure about my problem he tried many methods from he can’t confirm if I am lying since the booking wasn’t in English to asking me for £200+ to upgrade me when I didn’t want to pay he eventually gave me the room for free. The room was very hot aswel and again without airconditioning BUT for the more expansive room you got a fan that I would guess costs around 20-30 euros. It was even worse at cooling me down and I had been to the Travis Scott concert that night and was mentally and physically drained. I slept horrible due to the unbearable heat and when I asked if we could stay a bit longer the receptionist said we could stay till 11 which was 30min extra. Afterwards when leaving THE SAME person who I assume is the manager tried to tell me we stayed in to long but I was not having it and he didn’t try to fight it anymore. Rooms: No airconditioning, load wooden floors, old fans that do not help with the heat Noteworthy details: Do not get this hotel. It caused me a lot of stress while being tired from my travels and day activities. They try making you pay extra for what you already payed
Lovely reception staff, the room was very clean but so small that one side of the double bed was pushed up against the wall. The floors and bathroom fan were very noisy and the room was rather hot as the heater was on during an unusually warm day. Great location. I'd probably book again as long as I have good earplugs to block noises at night. Didn't try the breakfast.
This place is awful. Great neighborhood but that is where it stops. Our room was so hot. It is only about 75 degrees out but for some reason our room is so hot. No air conditioning and my mistake for not making sure if that ahead of time. The manager is always “out.” And none of the staff were very helpful. We just wanted a refund for the remaining 4 nights so we could go somewhere else. But we are still stuck here. Sweating. Nowhere to put suitcases. Shower has no door and water gets everywhere. Do not stay here. I have no idea how it is 4-star. No way.
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! I REPEAT, WARNINGGG! There are many things wrong with this hotel that it is NOT SAFE. Especially if you are a foreigner, they will try to SCAM YOU. *Long read but important before u try to book* 1. My friend had booked the STANDARD room on a trusting booking website, the website alongside many others offered the choice of two single beds or one double bed as most other hotels do. He had chosen the double. When we arrived the receptionist had told us that he had a single bed. We showed the woman the booking confirmation from the hotel and the booking website. She ignored it completely and then told us that there were no double bed rooms that night but we would be guaranteed a double room the next day free of charge. 2. The single room was ATROCIOUS. I wish i could exaggerate to try and gain some google clout but I am simply speaking the truth. It was giving victorian times, it was ancient, from the furniture, to the plug in fan to the creaky dirty floorboards. The bed was so small that my friend's feet were completely dangling out of the bed. 3. The key. Oh the key. It was quite funny, it was a huge metal slab attached to an ancient iron key. 4. The next day was the worst. They woke up my friend and told him that he had to leave the room because it was his last day and check out is at 10:30am. My friend cleaned the room, grabbed his bag and packed and got himself up after a long day of travelling for him to be told at reception that he infact will NOT be getting a new room. Why make him pack and leave the room and get woken up early in the morning to be told he had to pay for a room? We told the receptionist who was a south asian man wearing a suit manager? and a tall south asian man wearing casual clothes about the said receptionist who told us we would be promised a double bed room. They told us that she was wrong and the only thing he could offer was an apology and the double room for £290. He told this all to my friend who isnt english born and therefore doesnt speak english extremely well. As i listened to the conversation quietly aura +1000 I spoke up eventually as the two men told my friend he explained things wrong yesterday. I quickly said "No he didnt, I listened to the WHOLE conversation and he explained well". We showed the booking confirmation and they blamed the "third party website". Oh grow a pair! I said that when you advertise ur hotel on other websites actually describe it right. Don't say a standard room has the option of two single beds/double bed when its really one small single bed. I was rudely ignored by both men when they realised I was right, spoke perfect english and caught up to their "hospitality" act. I asked why they would ignore me mid conversation. One of them laughed and came over with a piece of paper showing the booking confirmation. The paper doesnt mean anything when what he booked wasnt what was given in person. The receptionist wearing the suit then offered us a deal of a lifetime! £20 FOR THE ROOM! Well well well. How on earth did we go from £290 to £20. My friend didnt have his card on him and so he just declined and asked to be put back in the single room. They said the room was unavailable and AT LAST, SUIT MAN HAD BEEN DEFEATED. He painfully gave the double room FREE OF CHARGE. So to put it simply we have gone from £290 to £20 to Free??? The man wearing casual clothes swiftly left after realising he would not be earning £20 scammed money. Anyways moving on... 3. The double room was better See i can be kind. I had assumed the floorboards were only creaky in one room but in this room it was worse, u could be anorexic and still make a sound like there were 10000s of mice. The room was painfully hot and their idea of AC was a £20 argos desk fan! How lovely! 4. The receptionists in general were the worst - uninviting, cold and sinister. 5. I also heard another couple in the lobby going through a similar thing with the prices. A room went from £300 to half of that if they paid with cash. overall, dont go. for the sake of ur mental health. Rooms: Horrible. Ancient. Good if you are into the victorian era, historical artifacts and argos desk fans. I guarantee the furniture is older than your nan. Noteworthy details: Scammers. DO not go if you care about mental health and your bank account.
I would like to live here. The service, the staff, the room, the balcony and the amazing kind and friendly owner have made me feel like a princess. Nothing is too much bother. Very high respect. The owner treats his staff very well too as ive observed. Admirable. Rooms: Fabulous. Nearby activities: Hereford Rd for pampering and restaurants. Safety: Even at 12am u feel safe. The most people will say is "are u ok love" but that's london in a nutshell. Walkability: Easy peasy. Kensington Gardens, 2min walk. WESTBOURNE TERRACE 1min walk. Queensway and Bayswater stations 2min walk. Food & drinks: Bottled water in room. Not many hotels in london do this and they should.
