Didn't really live up to expectations: - Rooms weren't very clean - Bathroom was basically a shower and toilet stuffed into a cupboard which meant you couldn't even close the door whilst using the toilet. - No air conditioning - extremely creaky floorboards in the whole hotel meant anytime any other guests moved around you heard it in your room didn't help me too sleep - mattress was very well worn and quite poor quality I expected more for the price. I would expect this hotel too have costed around £50 a night
It was a bit confusing, since the reception room wasnt in the front of hotel signage, but merged with other hotel, then we have to move to different gate in the same building. I dont know why the hotel name is different, although have same management We stayed 1 night, for 3 ppl , 1double bed and 1single bed. Bed Room super clean, comfort and spacious. But bathroom quite narrow. The neighborhood is nice, close to Kensington Garden and few step to bus station
I was plenty surprised by this hotel. Positives. Location minutes walk away from two tube stations but there is also a huge choice of cafes. Pubs restaurants right outside anyway. Absolutely spotless clean everywhere probably cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in Friendly staff can't do enough for you. Powerful hot shower Comfy beds. Negatives Rooms a bit small was only there for a few days so was fine but might be a cramped if u stayed for a week. Breakfast was advertised as full English but we were actually served continental. It tasted fine but was not we were told. If ut wasn't for the breakfast I would have given service 5.
Despite our room being ready about 45 minutes past check in, this is a clean hotel in a great location. The staff offered little apology or explanation as to why the room was not ready - to us and other guests. It's minutes from two different underground stops and dozens of restaurants. The street the hotel is located on is quiet and quaint with no street noise at night. The room itself was very clean with no odors. The hotel's website says the rooms do not have air conditioning, but to our surprise our room did! The room is small with little amenities, but the cleanliness and location makes up for it especially for shorter stays.
Clean room, great view into a small park, good beds and very good location. And at the Phoenix hotel you can enjoy a good breakfast for £ 7,50 ppRooms: 5/5
Very nice location, but there is no elevator in the hotel, I had two suitcases of 28 kg each that I had to drag myself to the 4th floor. Very small room. And it was dirty... there was hair in the shower, traces of coffee on the saucer.Rooms: 3/5
My husband and I just completed our tour of the UK. We finished up in London. It is hard finding a reasonably priced hotel in London that is both clean and well located. This hotel was just that! The staff at the phoenix hotel where you need to check in/out we’re very friendly. They allowed us to store our luggage until our room was available. The location was just a five min walk to the nearest underground station. The rooms were decently sized. There is nothing special about the rooms and they are a little outdated but they were clean and the bathrooms were a little more up to date. I would definitely stay here again.
So, the rooms were really descent and clean, but what's stopping me for giving 5 stars is the breakfast. It was really not worth what we paid for, since there were only a few options. Overall, the experience was very pleasant!
Fantastic central location in Kensington...only a short walk to the subway. The set up was a little strange as we had to go into the neighbouring hotel the Phoenix to check in and then go back outside to be buzzed in to our part of the hotel down the street. Was warm and cosy with Christmas decorations. Our room was small but clean and had everything we needed; hairdryer, fan, extra blanket, tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was very clean but we didn't get a bath mat until the second day. Comfy bed and private. No view but not a deal breaker. Very pleasant. Rooms: Small but enough room to do what we needed to without emptying our suitcases. All facilities including a TV. Clean and comfortable
Beware of booking online! When I tried to book, I thought my room request was unavailable and booking did not complete. I booked a nearby hotel. The second day of my trip I was charged over $200 for a no show! No confirmation email was ever sent. I had nothing showing I had actually booked this hotel. I had to go to the hotel office, which is actually at Phoenix hotel and ask to see if a room was booked in my name. The kind desk clerk confirmed I had booked a room and I had to come back the next morning to ask about the charges. No manager was there to speak to. BEWARE! Noteworthy details: Beware of online reservations
