Nice hotel at a decent price.nStaff were very friendly. It was quiet in the corridor, so had a peaceful sleep.nDidn't use the bar or restaurant but they looked nice and not too expensive.nWould happily stay there again.
We had a most wonderful unplanned stay as our motorcycle ran a flat and we had to spend the night to have the bike fixed at Newcastle Motorcycles. Brian was most accommodating and really went a step beyond just being nice. With a complementary breakfast and drink we were set for a nice stay. The hotel is just a short walk to the center of Newcastle with all its ancient history.
Perfectly decent stay, good value, but the hotel is at the bottom end of being a 4 star. On arrival, I had to wait about 5-10 minutes to check in along with some other people as nobody was covering reception this was around 9pm. Location is good for the station area, and the Arena.nnThe basic double room was clean and big enough to fit a double bed and a single, along with a desk and table, however no chairs were provided in the room. Wi-Fi was good. Bathroom spacious and to the usual Leonardo standard for a double room - basic.nnThe room I stayed in had no means of temperature control of any kind - no air cooling/warming. The weather was fairly temperate not excessively warm during the day and cool at night, so not a problem for me, but it’s something to consider for warmer or colder times of the year - should 4 star rated hotel rooms be relying on portable heaters and fans I presume these are available upon request?nnCheck out was efficient and staff were cheerful and polite. All in all, a perfectly decent hotel and stay, but not having temperature control lets it down.
We stayed in this hotel twice, once on the way up to Oban and then on the way back home.nnRooms were very clean and comfortable, along with a nice comfortable bed.nnThe food for both evening meal and breakfast was good, especially as the hotel had 3 coach tours in.nnThe staff were pleasant and helpful.nnWould stay there again.
Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean with a range of hot drinks to use. The breakfast menu is wide and freshly prepared and served. Highly recommended. So close to the centre but quiet for the night.
