Location, restaurant, cleaning staff were good. The front desk staff and their supervisors were quite incompetent and unhelpful. This is a big deal when staying at any hotel. I.E. Our room was not ready until 15:45 as they could not figure out how to get sheets for the pull out bed that was requested a week prior. We were given a disabled bathroom which was fine, but it had enough sink to place 1 toothbrush and no other shelf/storage for toiletry bags. There was plenty of space in the bathroom, and I asked the front desk 4 times over 2 days to place a small table, chair, stool so that we could store our toiletries off of the ground. Each time they said they would take care of it, and it never happened. Each time there were 2 -4 employees standing around. We moved hotels the last night, and I unfortunately left my insulin in the refrigerator. I went back and had to wait 35 minutes for them to retrieve it. I was also asked 5 times what room I was in which was infuriating. Write it down!! They may be resting on their location, as it is great. Their front desk staff, except for one young woman that was always hustling, need a major overhaul. She physically and mentally outworked all of the other staff, including the supervisor, exponentially. Noteworthy details: Front desk staff was poor and not trained to solve simple issues with confidence and efficiency.
I will confess to being slightly nervous ahead of my stay having read recent reviews after I’d booked. Reports of dirty rooms, lift issues and poor service alarmed me. However my experience could not have been more removed from those reviews. Location is outstanding. We had a room overlooking Leicester Square. One could be forgiven for assuming that would be a little noisy but it’s absolutely fine. Room was spacious enough for a weekend stay; with great decor, well appointed and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom divine. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. Roof top terrace bar - outstanding views. Very busy on a Saturday evening but absolutely to be expected! This hotel offers superb value for money with a brilliant in house team who want to offer a great experience Rooms: The room we had was well appointed, spacious and very clean
I stayed at this hotel on 16th November, booking via Booking.com and paying in full upfront. Upon arrival, I was asked to pay a £50 holding deposit, which I did. However, two days after my stay, the hotel charged the full price of the room to my account again, despite the fact that I had already paid. I’ve made over five calls to the hotel, each time being put on hold for ages to be told there is no manager available at this hotel to process a refund. I escalated the issue to Guest Services at IHG, was given a reference number, and promised a call within 48 hours. It’s now been over a week, and no one has contacted me. Today, I was advised to dispute the charge with my bank and request a refund that way. Booking.com has also been unable to help as the hotel is not responding to them either. The lack of management and communication is appalling. To add to the frustration, the only interaction we had with the hotel staff outside of sleeping was at the rooftop bar. We had to wait an unnecessarily long time for our drinks, and when they were finally ready, they were left sitting at the bar for us to collect ourselves. This entire experience has been disappointing, especially considering the cost of the stay which we have now paid double just before Christmas. It's a shame, as the hotel seems to lack any proper management or customer service.
Located in the heart of Leicester Square, this hotel has a great location next to shops, pubs, restaurants, casinos, and the underground. The front desk was always friendly, and check-in was a breeze. The room was nice but cramped even by UK standards. We did have a small balcony to enjoy and people watch. The on-site breakfast on the rooftop restaurant was quite nice. Our biggest struggle was the noise at night through all hours. Its the trade off for such a great location but we decided it would be better to stay two or three blocks outside the square next time. Overall the staff wete excellent.
Overpriced. We paid for Queen Premium, but did not get it. Was supposed to have chair/lounge in room, but nothing. Mattress hard. Stains on bathroom walls. Tight, small for the price. Location was good, but we won't stay at Leicester Sq. again. Noisy outside. Breakfast was excellent, we did that 5 out of 6 days. Expensive breakfast, but very well done. Overall, not a bad place but we will look for quieter places on next trip.
Can't beat the location! Walkable to many sights. Very close to the Piccadilly Circus statio, which makes it easy to navigate central London. They also have a beautiful rooftop bar. We were upgraded to a room facing the square, and it was lovely! I would absolutely stay here again.
Not what we were expecting. They don’t advertise you’ll be staying in a bunker like room with no windows so if you’re claustrophobic I would not stay at this hotel. We got put in a room right next to the cleaners who seemed to not be able to pick up a Greggs bag someone had left outside our bedroom door when we came back. When we arrived our door was open. The cleaners would wake us up in the morning banging around. I felt on edge the entire stay as the cleaners kept going in and out late at night and were directly next to our door. The room was dusty, had marks on the wall, makeup marks in the sink, hair on our sheets and coffee stains on the carpet and desk. The staff are unfriendly and have caused a fire hazard putting luggage in the stairwell. Luckily we only stayed for 2 nights and did other things in London but this hotel is overpriced. We also had a friend who asked if they could pay for something to be added to a room for a birthday surprise and they said they couldn’t do it ?? Even some towel art would have been easy. But they had the ability to ask for a security deposit. A disappointing stay won’t be coming back.
Top 3 worst stays. My expectation from this hotel, last week for 6 nights, was to do its basic job, offer a warm, quiet and comfortable place to rest. As per hotel policy stated by Duty Manager warm is not something they offer, instead they reset the room temperature automatically after 2 hours to 20 degrees Celsius no matter your preference. This is outside my personal comfort and the refuse to deactivate this restriction from my room reminded me of communist times where your freedom and comfort was not an option. Basically, they do savings on the back of their customers heath.
Our room was a complete disaster. First, we didn't have a window in our room even though we booked and paid for a standard room with a window. No closet, bathrobe, slippers, iron. We had to go to reception and ask for slippers. Lift is terrible. The lift was unusually slow and took forever to ride the lift. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to go outside with the stairs without any problems. But stil this was our first and last time here in this hotel. The only good thing was the breakfast in the restaurante we booked with breakfast only and the staff at the resturante were really pleasant. For a 4 Stars hotel it was not worth it, I would say it deserves max. 3 Stars. Not recommending this hotel to anyone. Walkability: Everything was nearby and you could go almost everywhere on foot. Food & drinks: The breakfast was delicious and the coffee was amazing.
Just had Bailey’s coffee and it was great. The damaged floor is an eye saw and needs urgent repairs. When descending in the elevator it shakes as though one was in the middle of an earth tremor; receptionist mentioned it was safe as that’s the usual experience. That is not acceptable and urgently needs to be fixed please. View is excellent!
